No, he won't.

"A very disappointing choice, but not a surprise. Scott has none of the serious commitment to conservative principles which DeMint does and will just be another vote for big government and in support of the corrupt party leadership. DeMint had big shoes and Scott comes nowhere near filling them. The people of South Carolina and the Nation need a champion, not another loyal hack."

Tim Scott on Defense Spending:
Oh great. A military Keynesian. Yay!![]()
I hope Rand Paul gets to him before McCain does.
Yes, SC has military bases so it's very difficult how you address that if you're a Republican and why Graham, staunch supporter of it all is popular. The MIC are very clever how they have states dependent on military spending like this.
This was a good pick, what we wanted. Now whoever our guy is (Davis?) can take on Lindsey Graham in 2014 without another primary.
Unfortunately, that tends to solidify the image of Nikki Haley we saw with Romney, not the image we saw in 2010.
edit, I'm not saying where he falls on the Senate spectrum, I don't know him that well. but My understanding is that he is NOT a Lee Bright or Tom Davis, from the discussions of him I saw.

Tom said he didn't want the job, plus he isn't a US Congressman so it would look kinda strange appointing him. Scott is a Tea Party candidate by every measure. He even joined the caucus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_Party_Caucus#Members.2C_112th_Congress
I wanted Davis to be appointed. if only Mark Sanford could keep his **** in his pants, we wouldn't have this bullshit
Apparently Jenny Sanford was a close second to Tim Scott.
That would be a f#c#ton better than tim scott.
Why is that? I have no idea what she stands for. Scott has a record of being somewhat OK. He certainly isn't a liberty person but I'm thinking he will likely be in the top 25 of least bad US Senators.
