Nigel Farage had dinner with Ron Paul

the BNP (british national party) is far-right. It has become pretty much extinct. Probably half their membership transfered to UKIP which to them is basically a re-branded BNP... UKIP admits non-whites lol.

I think you could say in the UK "far-right" is more synonymous with fascism and nationalism than in the USA.

Of course Ron Paul is 100% genuine. Anyone who doubts this (Sadly, they do exist, although I've only ever encountered them on the internet, in real life most people will give the man the respect integrity deserves even if they disagree with his policies) is an idiot with an agenda (Yes, it takes BOTH of those things, one or the other alone don't cut it. ) :D

My hope (And I say hope, not wish, as I am not certain, but am optimistic as of late) that Rand has as much integrity as his dad.

The parts of Nigel Farage's speech at the Manning Center that I heard were great. He might be as smeared as we are. BNP was different, as I understand it, UKIP is more like Tea Party, it seems from what I have read. But I don't know the players, really. I will look into him eventually and make up my own mind.

there's another thread that has a bunch of tweets from Ron's speech there. I hope media or video turn up!

There is a big difference between the BNP and UKIP. UKIP is not nationalist, it is pro-free trade, anti-protectionist and non-racist. BNP is fiscally to the left of Labour and are normally associated with the working class. UKIP are a fiscally conservative party that are normally associated with the middle class.

UKIP does not allow former members of the BNP or other British far-right parties or movements to join.

The only thing far-right about UKIP itself is its overseas alliances - it has aligned itself with the Slovak Nationalist Party, the Greek LAOS and Marine Le Pen of the French National Front in the EFD and EAF groups in the European Parliament. This alliance is solely for practical reasons, only because these parties share many of UKIP's goals with regards to the EU.

Sure, there are some racists in UKIP. There are also some racists in the Conservative party. There are racists in Labour and the Lib Dems to the extent that some are even in Parliament - see David Ward and Lord Ahmed. Many grassroots black and Muslim Labour members have expressed racist attitudes towards whites.

Farage's full speech from the Manning Center (where Ron was the keynote speaker, in Canada early this month) seems to finally be up!

Great speech. He doesn't sound like a nationalist at all. In fact, quite the opposite, when he mentions the truth of the situation in Europe, in that wedges are actually being driven between countries by attempts to centralized power in the EU.
