Newt signs ALL OVER South Carolina

It's simple.

Print off a massive amount of signs with Ron Paul's picture in his Air Force uniform and Rand on his bike next to Newt's signs.

I would say do NOT deface them. Private property. Posting your own sign with an arrow, now, I don't see how there could be anything wrong with that, if accurate.

Ok you are right about that. I got carried away being a Hippy that wants to legalize drugs so what do I know?

We need to Paulbot your state, John, bigtime. Would you agree? We need to amass in numbers and go to these places and wake people up...

This is what I mean by Paulbot...

Ha, ha!

But no, he is not right. You can't just stick a sign in the middle of a park and expect everyone to "respect" its right to be there until the end of eternity. It has no such right! It's not your park/median/overpass/right-of-way/fence/light pole. It's the government's. Newt has no more right to it than you.

Defacing his signs in a clever and hilarious way is a good idea, and completely consistent with libertarian ideals, and saves a lot of money from having to put up your own. And no one will associate the negativity with Ron Paul, just with Newt (as long as you're not slapping Ron Paul stickers over his signs -- don't do that, please!). Put up a bunch of Ron Paul signs, too -- the anti-Newt just hurts Newt, pro-Ron helps Ron.

defacing property isn't consistent with libertarian respect of property that I am aware of and would reflect back on Ron.

How about placing this next to Newt signs?

Edit: Of course that depends on people in S.C. immediately recognizing Nancy Pelosi by face.

This is an issue with public property. I'm with sailingaway. I'm sure you can come up with something more clever than vandalizing other people's signs.

Yeah, originally private property, but they've been put onto "public" property. That means they're no longer really private property. When the government (or anyone else) removes my Ron Paul signs from the telephone poles or overpasses or whatever public property, I don't think they're violating my rights. I just put more up. And make them harder to remove.

I don't think it's violating the Newt campaign's rights to put a sticker on the sign which they have planted on the commons. Nor even to remove it, for that matter, but I like the subversive sticker or next-door sign idea better. :)
it is a crime in NV. Maybe a fed law.

You should make a sign that says something like "is a RINO" with an arrow pointing towards Newt's signs. May I also suggest "is a chickenhawk", "loves Tiffany's", "Lies a lot", "cheated on his wives", "is a draft dodging coward", "has no morals", etc. you get my point.

You can hire a lot of sign placers when you're getting $5 million PAC donations from secret billionaires.

Fwiw, you can remove political signs placed on public property. You can't touch private property signs for obvious reasons though. This varies by state and local law so do your homework. You also may want to look into local ordinances regarding political signage. For example, my local jurisdiction requires sign posters to post a $50 bond PER SIGN placed on public property ;) Has Newt or his surrogates paid the proper fee, if applicable? Hehe.

I mean, don't get me wrong Newt is complete slime... but aren't we supposed to be above vandalizing and uprooting opponents' signs?

Do you guys think Ron would approve of that? Our real struggle is in the marketplace of ideas, where we have a definitive advantage over the competition. We don't need to stoop to cheap, dirty tricks, and it reflects badly on us.

I doubt that. It is probably against the law to put up a sign on public land in the first place. In most cities, it's technically against the law to post anything on public property, even a "garage sale this way" sign.

Now if the sign is on private land, that is a horse of an entirely different color.

These are signs that his paid cronies have placed ILLEGALLY on public right-of-ways, to promote an evil person who is on the record as wanting to get us into WWIII.

I would say that slightly modifying the message of his ILLEGAL signs is a perfectly upright, upstanding, and honorable pastime.

and it reflects badly on us.
It would, if we were advertising that it was us doing it. Who is to say who is putting up "Supported TARP" stickers between "Newt Gingrich" and "2012"? Could be Perry. Could be anyone.

P.S.: By the way, the idea of putting a second sign making the point right next to the original one, that idea is just as good, maybe even more effective. Either way, this is a brilliant and subversive idea and I hope you guys down in S.C. jump on this.

I like it. I also like the picture of Ron and Rand on the bike with the phrase: "I went" -- Ron Paul 2012 next to it.

No. We went back and got Ron's and are reusing them. they cost money and they belong to someone. Don't suggest vandalism here.
