Newark Mayor Cory Booker preparing to live a week on food stamps

"[Let's] you and I try to live on food stamps in New Jersey (high cost of living) and feed a family for a week or month," the mayor wrote. "U game?"

And why is the cost of living so high in NJ, Mr. Mayor?

I know people in NJ that are paying $10,000 a year in property taxes alone, (not to mention sales, income and other taxes) on modest, middle class homes.

That's that "shared responsibility" you were talking about.

About half of his friends in Baltimore have been getting food stamps since the economy toppled, so he decided to give it a try; to his delight, he qualified for $200 a month.

and notes that two of his roommates — a graduate student in poetry and an underemployed cook, both in their 20s — also started getting food stamps in the past two months, as have other friends and acquaintances.

“At first, I thought, ‘Why should I be on food stamps?’” said Magida, digging into her dinner. “Here I am, this educated person who went to art school, and there are a lot of people who need them more. But then I realized, I need them, too.”

Could be he's going to pick-up cans or steal copper from abandoned homes?

Stealing? Now that's a harsh word........we'll have to add that to the list of hate speech words. He was simply redistributing the wealth: take from those with ability (homeowner), and give to those in need (jobless slacker). Now you must attend sensitivy training to adjust your sick mind. Marxist orders!

If you wish to make sarcasm in this way, the correct RPF method is to say: Reported.

From Wikipedia:
As a security measure, the rear entryway of the unit Byrne stayed in was welded shut. This had the unforeseen impact of creating a fortification for gang members when Byrne left. Many other gangs copied this technique in other units.

Unintended consequences FTW!

You, sir, are out of line! You know perfectly well that there are only "problems" and "solutions."

There will be no discussion of such mythical & ridiculous things as "causes."

Someone who lives on extorted loot will be living on an additional program that extorts more loot? Cory Booker is my hero.
