New PPP poll in New Hampshire, Walker 1st, Cruz 2nd, Rand 3rd

These early polls don't work well for someone like Rand. He's bringing new ideas to the table, and it takes time for people to get used to them. Time is on his side. It would be insane for him to be consistently ahead in many at this point, but the fact that he's doing even ok is an incredibly good sign, especially if he continues to get anywhere near this level of dinosaur media coverage. I don't think Ron ever did this well overall in state and national polls, did he? I don't mean internet polls, but the ones where they only call the retirees who have been voting for the same party every year and have nothing better to do but to sit at home answering polls on their rotary landlines.

I agree withe landline bit.

Welcome to RPFs..

The economy is the number 1 issue. Walker is winning because he is taking a stance against massive legal and illegal immigration that has put many people out of work, and has suppressed the wages in the IT and engineering fields.

Rand has many interesting ideas about criminal justice reform and freedom, but that may fall on deaf ears in Iowa and New Hampshire, both of which have almost no African-American populations to speak of. Also, freedom may sound great to younger people, but when the bulk of people voting in Republican primaries are older white people (who again are primarily concerned with the economy), you're not going to get many votes if people perceive you as someone that is soft on immigration (which is obviously taking a toll on Bush and Rubio).

Rand is going to have to have a little pow-wow with Jeff Sessions and show the voters that he is open to scaling back immigration. A 10 point lead for Walker is a lot, and he may crush Rand in New Hampshire if he wins Iowa.
