Breaking: NH Legislator Submits Legislation To Divorce DC; Declare Independence
https://libertyblock.com/breaking-n...gislation-to-divorce-dc-declare-independence/
Elliot Axelman (14 September 2021)

On Monday afternoon, New Hampshire Representative Mike Sylvia officially submitted language to the Office Of Legislative Services for a constitutional amendment concurrent resolution (CACR). If the amendment passes the House and Senate with 60% of the vote in each chamber, it would be placed on the ballot in the November 2022 statewide election. If 66% of the voters choose to accept the amendment into the NH Constitution, it would immediately be added to our state’s governing document, and the Live Free or Die State would officially sever all ties with Washington DC, becoming a self-governing nation-state.

On September 1st, The Liberty Block published an article listing over 70 powerful reasons why Granite Staters should support state independence from the federal government. And then, Dictator Biden announced that he would bypass Congress and mandate that American workers submit to his power and accept the COVID vaccine, regardless of whether they already had immunity to the virus. When Republican Governors voiced their concerns about executive/federal overreach, Biden threatened to “run over” the delinquent Governors using his power as the President.

The language submitted today asks that a bill be filed to ask the legislature whether the following language should be placed on the ballot for the people to vote on:

“[Art.] 7-a. [Independent Nation.] New Hampshire peaceably declares
independence from the United States and immediately proceeds as a
sovereign nation. All other references to the United States in this
constitution, state statutes, and regulations are nullified.”

If the legislation passes the House and the Senate (the governor does not need to sign a CACR) it would give the people of New Hampshire an opportunity to vote on their future relationship with Washington DC.

The voters of this great state have not had an opportunity to reevaluate their relationship with our Lords in DC ever in their lifetimes; their ancestors made the decision to join the union 240 years ago, in a different world, one in which the federal government did not violate our every right, and did not steal half of our money to fund their tyranny.

If you believe that it’s time to give voters a choice – all this legislation does is give voters a voice – then please tell your state representatives and senators to support this constitutional amendment.

* UPDATE: A forth Representative has indicated that they will co-sponsor this legislation.

Won't happen will never pass. NH is just another suburb of Boston, Mass hole now. They have taken over all the way up to Portland.

Sent a note to that NH state rep thanking him for the california independence resolution...assuming its a resolution.

Meanwhile NH independence legislation has reached 9 sponsors (max is 10) and achieved 71 percent support in an unscientific poll on UnionLeader.com

This letter by an opponent...says more than I ever could regarding the success we are having in this time of otherwise-despair:

Opinion/Letter: Proposal for NH to secede from the USA
Portsmouth Herald

To the Editor:

Nine New Hampshire legislators have submitted a resolution (CACR 2022-2243) for our state "to peaceably declare independence from the United States and proceed as a sovereign nation" -- i.e., secede from the union. (They don't seem to have given much thought to what the consequences of such action would be, were it ever to happen.)

This secession proposal comes from members of the Free State Project, a group of anti-government zealots from around the nation who have been moving to New Hampshire for the past two decades with the stated goal of taking over state government and creating a libertarian "utopia.” They selected New Hampshire as their target because of our small population and our narrow political balance, making it possible for them to have a significant effect on legislative actions. According to the Free State Project Watch (freestateprojectwatch.org), there are more than 40 Free Staters in the New Hampshire legislature today, elected as Republicans. Some suggest the number, including sympathizers, may be as high as 100.

The primary goal of Free Staters is to reduce the role of the federal government, as espoused by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). ALEC says the framers intended for states to cede only a "miniscule" amount of power to a national government, and that over time the amassing of federal power "has led to overregulation and redundant bureaucracy." Even international relations should be in the hands of state legislators, ALEC says, as they are "stakeholders in many of the most important national and international issues of the day."

While it is true that in crafting our federal system, the founders stressed that power derives from the people and governmental functions should be carried out at the lowest level practicable, over time developments in commerce and technology have made it increasingly necessary to regulate matters at national or even international level. To reflect nostalgically on simpler days of the eighteenth century, before automobiles, airplanes and computers, is not a sound basis for running our country today.

Secessionists are by definition not patriots, and with their growing representation in our state and local government, Free Staters pose a palpable risk. They have been introducing proposals to slash local and state budgets, undermine public education, neglect roads, bridges and other infrastructure, and overturn community priorities. For more, see the website granitestateprogress.org.

What we can do about this, since Free Staters run as Republicans (and since other Republicans support many of their priorities), is to show up at the polls and elect Democrats. Regardless of impediments Republicans place in the way of voting, we need to fight our way through, and vote.

Rep. Sylvia now has 8 state reps co-sponsoring this legislation, maximum allowed is only about 10.

An NHexit activist, Terese Grinell, has been arrested at a governor's meeting and I think charged with disorderly conduct. Although she was just sitting there at the meeting, it is possible that the arrest was for some alleged disruption in the past.

These big anti-FedMoney protests at the governor's meetings however have been successful, the Exec Council has agreed to their peaceable demands and NH has become the only state to reject that controversial Fed Covid propaganda money:

Well played, FSP, well played

It probably won't - but the mere fact that it is being put forward is significant.

It's one more straw - and sooner or later, the camel's back is going to give out.

You are 100% correct. Secession doesn't have to pass in order to become a viable option that can be weaponised.

We NEED weapons. Secession movements must be supported everywhere.

Local authoritarians gathered in an online meeting this month to complain about the progress of the NH independence movement and other NH libertarian successes. Of course, a friendly attended and recorded the whole thing for your enjoyment.

From another thread: Is the Libertarian Migration to New Hampshire Having an Impact?
Apparently, they're having enough of an impact that New Hampshire Democrats are conducting Internet forums cope-sessions to fret and moan and try to figure out what to do about it. One such forum is the subject of the video below.

The forum itself starts after about 34:00 ("Taxation is theft" gets a name-check just after 55:00 :D).

"You really need to understand what's going on, and that's the whole reason for having this presentation ... It isn't to ... make them ... look like the Boogeyman - even if they are the Boogeyman ..." -- 1:53:53

The NH Democrats are having a hissy fit over the Free State Project, and we're streaming it live

By their grievances shall ye know them. This week I was calling in to a New Hampshire talk show about the latest liberty issue...their co-host was so triggered he ripped his headphones off and fled the studio. It happens roughly 2/3rd's of the way through the broadcast:

Their other "complaint" is that we have new movers parties to help people unload their van when they arrive. Wish you were all here!
