New Hampshire Article on Ron Paul and Kelly Halldorson

Runners are for between towns, and then we walk through the town - with each walker walking one mile, and then passing the flag being carried to the next person, who walks the next mile. Phoenix has already begun planning a similar event, but I agree it should be coast to coast. An American Flag should definitely be carried across the country for this event. Handouts along the way should include the small pamphlet with the Constitution and Bill of Rights to impress the importance of 'reistating the Constitution, and restoring the Republic'.

Or people could go in pairs, if they're more comfortable, for two miles or more. Walking two miles is nothing, 45 minutes at most. Handing out lit might take longer.

Maybe we could call it , March Across America for Ron Paul 2008.

I think we have a winner. Very patriotic sounding. Love the word "March" in the title.

I have been looking into the GPS thing and I think if we got a track phone we could do it.

Packages for the phone are about $70. Which isn't too bad.

Maybe if we had a long tube that opened on both ends, we could stuff the phone and charger and some intructions on keeping the minutes going - you can buy mintues at CVS and 7-11 cards in one. It uses $0.35 a day to keep tracking it and comes with $10 preloaded.

Then the other end would be much bigger and contain a copy of the constitution to whip out and wave around. I love the flag idea. The flag is also very patriotic.

We could make this tube out of painted PVC pipe (spray paint it gold or something).

I'm just tossing ideas out there. You have to see what sticks. And I believe in the theory that there is intelligence in groups (though, I sometimes wonder with the people I talk to while delivering Ron Paul's message).

GPS tracking is easey and costs virtually nothing. You just need a web page people can go to, to see the progress. Maybe some people can wear t-shirts on the back that says, Ron Paul is #1 on Youtube, for advertising.

Are we talking a relay with a few people at a time, or a mass migration to the west coast from Boston?

I can pledge 20 miles solo thru upstate South Carolina if the route goes this way.

The initial route i suggested was this as a relay, for as far as people wanted to go, then find their way back home, after passing the baton.

Maybe the march could start in Boston, Where the revolution began. Then from there, New York City, with many supporters. Then to Trenton, NJ, Where Washington crossed the Delaware. And on to Philadelphia, where They can Pick up the copy of The Constitution. And then from Philadelphia, it could branch out in all directions to Los Angles and from Los Angeles, it could go to San Francisco, and end at Google Head Quarters.

We need to Contact Boston groups to see if they would be interested in starting the March.

What web page specifically?

Have you done this before? I couldn't find anything when I look for "tracking your vacations" and similar searches.

I know it's done through cell phones, but no need to make a call. I'll do a little more research and see if there is different device, and get back to this thread tomorrow. This thread should be kept alive.

I like that idea. and then from Philadelphia go and deliver it to DC.

Even just doing that would take a lot of planning and coordination and probably make a good amount of media attention.

Though across the country would make the most media attention, I think the logistics would be overwhelming.

After D.C. take it through Mt. Vernon and G. Washington, to Thomas Jefferson's home in Montpelier, VA.

Going across country will be great. But you are going to have one hell of a time getting from Central TX/OK to L.A., CA on foot, not sure if it has ever been done before. Maybe at some point the relay teams can pick up some horses or bicycles.

I would skate a longboard across the country to help the campaign...hmm maybe once the election really gets near, does anyone skate?
