New Flyer: Ron Paul is the only Republican that can beat Obama

My fellow journalist writer who helps me with these, says that the statement is most accurate. Obama's support is greatly dwindled when compared with Ron Paul. Paul pulls the most support from independents, liberals, and conservatives. While Romney only appeals to the conservatives alone.

My first instinct is that it should not be changed.

"Our only chance to beat Obama" sounds weaker than the original slogan, "The only Republican that can beat Obama" which is strong and firm.

This is marketing, remember. Citing polls is just going to muck it up. People will look at this for ten seconds and put it down. Best not to complicate things for them.

I will run it by my wife (she's a senior exec in marketing) and have her offer some suggestions, and see what she thinks about the advice already given.

I wish you would have created something other than an eagle logo... I have seen your work all over here and facebook and the eagle really bothers me because your designs are nearly identical to the branding that Rick Santorum has and that is DAMAGING to Ron Paul's campaign's branding... I really wish you'd lose the eagle.

I agree that the polls should go in there. People need to know that he's gaining in popularity and polls help. We should use them when they are to our advantage to do so.

Also, I think you should photoshop his complexion. Nothing wrong with smoothing it out a little and making his face look as young as his mind and heart. Well.....maybe not that young. :p:cool:

I think the citations are a good idea, if you can work them in without making it seem really "busy." Also, I think maybe the wording of the first paragraph could be altered to emphasize that Ron does incredibly well with Independents, which is crucial in a general election.

Wouldn't proper grammar be to say the only Republican WHO; not the only candidate THAT?

There is also a typo on the 2nd page. SUCCEESS --> success

I don't know how you plan to deploy this but modifying the logo side to be a postcard would be great. Direct mail is a great way to reach people. Simple mod. I can give you dimensions if you need.

You have to smash the media meme that he can't win, by showing evidence to the contrary. Most people don't realize how good Ron matches up against Obama, even at this early stage.

This is the theme of my blog. When I create The Case For Ron Paul 4 years ago, it was all about the polls, donations and webtraffic evidence for proving that Ron had significant support. This time around I have created it as a blog with additional content.

graphic work is great as always. i like the wording.. it just isn't factual. ron paul isn't "the only the republican that can beat obama", by any measure. he's not "the only one who comes within striking distance of obama consistently" in polls either. actually he's 4th vs. obama in the latest poll. mitt romney is the only repub candidate that actually /beat/ obama in that poll (or, iirc, any other general match-up poll).

i'm not trying to be debbie downer here, just stating that if you put out a flyer that is obviously, demonstrably untrue... it's probably not as effective as if it were stated differently. draw distance between paul and obama, while relating obama to the other republican candidates (or even tainted past repubs like bush etc). think romney/obamacare, bachmann/tarp/war, etc.

just my .02

Where is he fourth against Obama? I've never seen that. Fourth against GOP in the primary, sometimes, yeah, but not fourth in polling against Obama. Link? He always beats Bachmann etc The latest Rasmussen poll said he was one of four in striking distance but he polled second best against Obama, not 4th. I agree we need to be absolutely accurate, but you could say he 'regularly' rather than 'always' polls that way, and put links or cites to the Rasmussen poll, the May 5 CNN poll etc The fact is PPP is the one who generally does heads to head against Obama, and they have been finding one excuse after another to NOT poll Ron head to head, but the last time they did, with Texas voters only, Ron again came in second to Romney, beating Obama by 5 points, the other GOP didn't do as well. Perry outright LOST to Obama, in TEXAS.
