Here's the precinct-level results for the 2 largest counties in Nevada:

Clark: http://www.nvgopcaucus.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Clark-Precinct-Results.pdf
Washoe: http://www.nvgopcaucus.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Washoe-Precinct-Results.pdf

A group of us from California drove up to 5 hours to Reno to pass out information and talk to people as they arrived at the caucus. The average vote Ron Paul got at the schools we didn't go to was 15.0%.

I was at Clayton with a couple people and Adam was at Pine (photo) and another couple at Swope. In these three locations, we got Ron Paul 26.2%, 28.2%, and 27.5% respectively.

So it's definitely possible for people to almost double Ron Paul's numbers by showing up to the caucus sites, greeting people, being courteous, passing out information, and answering questions!

Code:
[size=3]
School Name Ging Paul Romn Sant Tot
Billinghurst Middle School 26.7 13.4 47.7 12.1 618
[b]Clayton Middle School 25.7 26.2 36.2 11.9 428[/b]
Damonte High School 28.6 14.2 45.7 11.5 514
Depoali Middle School 28.5 16.3 39.8 15.3 655
Dilworth Middle School 28.6 20.1 40.5 10.8 353
Galena High School 22.9 13.1 51.6 12.4 672
Gerlach Community Center 47.8 8.7 34.8 8.7 23
Hug High School 31.5 18.0 39.0 11.5 521
Incline High School 27.5 14.7 50.5 7.2 374
Mendive Middle School 29.8 13.6 44.8 11.8 583
Obrien Middle School 36.5 18.3 28.8 16.5 389
[b]Pine Middle School 27.4 28.2 35.0 9.4 277[/b]
Shaw Middle School 32.3 17.0 37.9 12.8 499
Spanish Springs High School 25.0 11.3 49.3 14.4 292
[b]Swope Middle School 21.6 27.5 39.5 11.4 499[/b]
[/size]

Results where we weren't at:

Romney 43.7%
Gingrich: 28.8%
Paul: 15.0%
Santorum: 12.5%

Results for where we were at:

Romney: 38.0%
Paul: 25.6%
Gingrich: 25.4%
Santorum: 11.0%

So relative %change and change in percentage points:

Paul: +70.6% or +10.6pts
Romney: -13.0% or -5.7pts
Santorum: -12.0% or -1.5pts
Gingrich: -11.8% or -3.4pts

So looking at %change, all the candidates lost about the same rate with Romney with slightly more loss from probably weaker support (e.g., people just wanting to pick who they think is the winner).

I've summarized the talking points I was using into a card/flyer, and hopefully it will be useful to other people attending caucuses/primaries in the future:

I actually wanted everybody at YFP to be at different precincts passing out information doing last minute persuasions but the campaign had us doing gotv calls.

This is definitely something to consider but its hard for caucus goers to do this since they have to be at the caucus themselves and stay neutral for the delegate nomination.

Yeah, depending on how big the caucus is, even if you're trying to be a delegate, you can pass out cards/flyers in the first half hour after the doors open and hopefully you find a Ron Paul supporter that is for sure not going to be a delegate. Worst case you bring a different shirt/jacket/hat and change and hope nobody notices! Also, you can try finding someone that won't be able to participate in the caucus, e.g., someone under 18, not registered, out of state, etc.

There were a couple in Maine today, more leading up to Saturday (the majority is on that day).

That would have been completely illegal.

How come?

In IA we were allowed to go to the caucus sites and hand out material and talk with folks inside the caucus location. I know some states this is not legal, is NV one of them?

And OP - awesome work.. That's how you develop material and market test it!

Without doing statistical analysis, and assuming all the other districts were pretty similar..

It looks like all of the increase was at the expense of Romney.

I''m guessing your presence and handout shattered the elect-ability question, and got those bandwagon/soft supporters.

Oregon voters in the Portland area will be tabling caucus sites for Washington caucus-goers in the Vancouver area. How sweet is that?

Bordering states, and especially people living on the borders, need to be in touch and helping each other!

IA is not NV. NV was a completely closed system. If you weren't a Republican registered to vote in that area you couldn't be present. No exceptions. That's the law.

That's what the official state campaign told me, anyway.

I think it was just 100ft away from the caucus location...its not that you can't be present, you just have to keep a distance.

It was up to the people in charge of the caucus, and at the 3 locations I was at, they allowed for candidate material. Although I never actually entered any of the caucus rooms. I just stayed in the hallway leading to the registration area.

These caucuses were all at schools, and by the time I arrived, a paid Romney person was giving stickers for people to put on. (I ended up giving a lot of information to people with Romney stickers.) There were plenty of Gingrich signs in the registration area too.

Be aware that there may be laws, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Or if there's stuff for other candidates anyway, it's time to catch up!

wonder if I can do this in Idaho. In Ada county the caucus for everyone is Taco Bell Arena (Boise State's basketball arena). That is for a population of 380,000 people. There are 4 entrances to the arena at each corner. I can not vote, I am not a citizen, just a permanent resident.

Love, love it. The effort is wonderful and your card/flyer clears up some misconceptions that many Republican have.

+rep and I wish I could give you more than just one.

up to 15,000 people expected at Taco Bell Arena this could be huge, I need to look into it!

phone from home program needs to be killed asap. What works is door to door canvassing. Not one person came to caucus because of phone calls in my precinct or others that i asked. Only from me and others knocking on my precinct doors. What i did hear was folks complaining about the calls. canvassing works ,phone calls do not!

Where is the result for the UNLV campus? Did we have people there, knocking on doors at the dorms? I don't think we do that.

This is at Boise State? Walk around Boise State. Try to get the students to go to the caucus.
