Nevada result by precinct (Clark/Washoe) - You CAN make a difference at the caucus (easy)!

Yes, I am plotting to mass handout some passionate flyers at BSU that are hard hitting. 1000's hopefully before the caucus. I will replicate the talking points I used when I walked around last weekend and had very positive results, plus parts from that flyer above.

Secondly I am going to try to mass handout flyers with other people that are the same as the ones above, with some more point on the reverse side outstide of tace bell arena before the caucus if it is allowed.

That is some hard statistical data from those 3 counties. We should take these lessons and the lessons from the Adelson caucus to heart. The support of the other candidates is soft. It is nobodies fault but our own if we do not do this, THIS NEEDS TO BE MASS REPLICATED ACROSS THE NATION IF ALLOWED. During the Revolutionary War our forefathers risked their lives for liberty, all we have to do is hand out flyers and get boots on the ground.

Ada County's GOP Caucus will be held at the Taco Bell Arena on Tuesday, March 6, beginning at 7 p.m

3. Who votes in the Caucus?

All registered Republican voters in the county are eligible to vote in the County Caucuses. Voters may register to vote as Republicans as they enter the Caucus site.

This should be an easy one. Knock on the doors of the dorms. Have the students (who all already like Ron Paul) go caucus. Have special events prior to and/or after the caucus. Free beer!!! Get your ticket at the caucus from the Ron Paul representative.

Harikaried, that is great news! Hard statistical evidence that your flyer and your efforts made the difference. Hopefully this can be replicated in Maine and elsewhere....

Good points buddy , it's been proven there are many people who make up their minds on the day.
Yeah, and that support for other candidates like Romney is not strong, so just a little bit of key information is all that's needed to bring them over.

Without doing statistical analysis, and assuming all the other districts were pretty similar..

It looks like all of the increase was at the expense of Romney.
Results where we weren't at:

Romney 43.7%
Gingrich: 28.8%
Paul: 15.0%
Santorum: 12.5%

Results for where we were at:

Romney: 38.0%
Paul: 25.6%
Gingrich: 25.4%
Santorum: 11.0%

So relative %change and change in percentage points:

Paul: +70.6% or +10.6pts
Romney: -13.0% or -5.7pts
Santorum: -12.0% or -1.5pts
Gingrich: -11.8% or -3.4pts

So looking at %change, all the candidates lost about the same rate with Romney with slightly more loss from probably weaker support (e.g., people just wanting to pick who they think is the winner).

wonder if I can do this in Idaho. In Ada county the caucus for everyone is Taco Bell Arena (Boise State's basketball arena). That is for a population of 380,000 people. There are 4 entrances to the arena at each corner. I can not vote, I am not a citizen, just a permanent resident.
It doesn't hurt to try to persuade people at the last moment! Otherwise they'll just end up voting for someone else like Romney. Even if someone says you're too close, e.g., within 100 feet, just move back a little to appease the person and continue.

Also, remember to reevaluate where you should stand based on where people are parking and arriving. As the parking lots fill up, people start coming in from different places.

If you can get other people to join you, do a double-team where you ask the question like "Do you want to beat Obama?" and have another person follow "Only Ron Paul gets the Independent and youth votes!"

Yeah, and proof that people can be swayed at the caucus. It's hard enough to find people to support Ron Paul AND make it to the caucus. This simplifies one thing because you're already at the caucus!

Ya, I need to get a lot of people and we need to have the arena surrounded using a certain radius from all entrance points, I think they might frown at handing these out right at the doors but I can look into that. I am talking about handing out 1000's of flyers, if 15,000 will attend we need to try to hit the majority of those.

Also, what you did with the flyers is even bigger for another reason. Not only do you GAIN votes for Ron Paul, but you TAKE AWAY votes from someone else. At the precincts you were at you gained just over 10% for Ron Paul but you also closed the gap between him and first place Romney from 28.7% to 12.4%, a whoping 15.3% difference!!!

hari, didn't you get the math wrong in the first post? Instead of 25.6% at the 3 locations it was something higher, since the 3 locations saw Paul get 26.2% 28.2% 27.5%. I didn't check your math on the 15% figure where you weren't but my above post would need to be adjusted to reflect these better numbers too.

Great job with this.

Ah, but we were at more than 3 locations, so I included those in the average to get 25.6%.
