Nation Builder due diligence

I don't work for you.
I never asked in the first place. Just someone said scam and started talking about the IRS/FEC. I never said we'd accept foreign donors. I never said anything in fact -- I just responded in a professional manner and was met with irrational comments. I offered everyone who questioned me to call me directly but not one did.

The only person who called was Bryan -- the Admin.

If this was a Lincoln-Douglas Debate, who would of won?

Is there any doubts still or is it just people with bruised egos that refuse to admit that what we are doing is a very noble and needed cause?

For the record:
3. "You are so wonderful to start this site, I just donated $100! Hey look, you've had several other patriotic donors jumping on this bandwagon! This is so great for the cause of liberty (lip service, BS, lip service) DONATE PEOPLE!" (Not verbatim, but captures the spirit of the exchange that I read.)
I think that was the gentleman from Europe, who today e-mailed and asked to return the donation until we solve this due diligence issue (he was the only one who donated $100 online). I did not post any false comments -- in fact , I was out the night of this thread promoting National Campaigns to 9/11 activists, so they could spread the word through their networks to donate directly to the campaigns (not me).

What the hell? What is this site? Do NOT donate to anything until it's verified...if you want to donate to help RP, donate to RonPaul2008.com OR http://www.ronpaulforcongress.com/.

Do NOT donate to anything that crops up in the middle of the night. Too many shysters out there.
Has it been verified yet or not? If you still have questions, please list them and I will do my best to answer them. As always, I'm a phone call away.

Also, some people are pessimistic about donating to Ron Paul (hence the GrannyWarriors slow ChipIn on DailyPaul) but you can get them motivated again by having them donate direct to national campaigns -- people we can get elected! I'm happy with how RP's campaign turned out but I will be very disappointed if Murray Sabrin and Jim Forsythe lose.

Become a PAC and you can do just like the other PAC's you mentioned. Now, feel free to post four or five times consecutively.

We aren't donating to any campaigns. We want to have an organization to run effective and efficient grassroots efforts for state and national campaigns. I never listed PACs, just 501(c)(4)s.

For example, some people think RP2008 could have utilized money better. We don't want to give to a central campaign committee, we want to keep doing what we were doing before February 5th -- right now. We lost the office on Feb 6th.

Thanks for your civil and professional tone, it goes a long way. I've donated to Murray's campaign directly through his website and have even been in email contact with him. He's a good, solid person to support.

Why again do you want us to donate to your site when we can donate to these guys directly? If anything, a good central site with links to donate directly to these candidates would be great, especially if it included their endorsements and positions on various important issues. Perhaps even a link to how they've voted in the past. All that information is public domain and free on the 'net.

If you want to circumvent FEC laws so foreigners can donate through your site, a public forum is not the smartest place to advertise.

For grassroots support. I can explain easier over the phone. But trust me our work is wanted, needed and effective -- you'll see as we grow.

I never said we'd accept foreign donations, that was my partner. And he only said that because he is a hardcore libertarian who doesn't like the IRS/FEC -- like me and I'm sure everyone here.

And I apologize for my stronger comments but please understand I'm a volunteer working hard like many others and it is unnecessary to call an organization a scam without knowing the facts or at least talking to the person who is involved in it -- especially when they offer their phone number.

Thanks.

The posts are gone so I can't provide proof, but I'm almost 100% certain that I read a post where you encouraged foreign donors.

I have no problem with the site, but I don't understand why you need donors and what exactly happens to the money.

Good intentions or not, we're a very sensitive bunch when it comes to a potential bilker, especially right now. If you read the forums regularly, you'd know why.

I'm not a really a phone person, so I'd never call you and I also don't know how talking to you proves anything.

If you're legit, best of luck. If not, I'll be more than happy to re-write Dante's Inferno and assign a new level 10 just to you. :)

My partner wrote that -- again we're all libertarians so you understand why. I know foreigners can donate to the 501(c)(3) and I believe with operational-relationships you can transfer one to the other. But I've still haven't seen a law against foreign donors for 501(c)(4)'s -- I know NRA accepts them but they also have a 501(c)(3).

National and State Campaigns are glad we exist and are working with us. We are filling a void to get people in the GOP and provide effective grassroots support for Jeffersonian Republicans candidates.

the REVOLUTION continues -- says it all

I could tell you more on the phone, just didn't want to make everything we are doing public on this forum yet for certain reasons.

yes, i guess that would be me.
maybe i jumped on the wagon to quickly, maybe also for a reason because i was hoping for some organization who would finally show some effort and look into the exit polling.

With all respect, Amy and Sandra, you guys are also quite quick in calling BS and reporting people.
I can see where this is coming from and I am all with you considering all that stuff that happens in this forum, but there's no need to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Well, I can only say, I have no connections to Ryan and Shane, my donation was honest and maybe a bit overhasty, I received an email from Ryan about the refund and more information regarding the operation.

I appreciate it and will follow the progress and consider a donation at a later stage. but it helped already quite a bit eliminating some doubts.

www.projectvotecount.com needs a lot of support

as does the Meetups in the 14th District

there's a top notch attorney down there and others, we are waiting on details about the affidavits but we need 20 or so people to cover the 2 polling locations

RP-meetup people can't do it because they have to be somewhere to be a delegate

Mark Adams from Project Vote Count said "There will be voter fraud in the 14th District" -- he is an experience attorney who has proven cases of fraud before

It's amazing that not more people are concerned that Dr. Paul could lose his Congressional seat in 7-days. Chris Peden is being pushed by their County GOP.

So please -- everyone, spread the word and do what you can to help.

1) The WHOIS information was corrected immediately to reflect the current address and phone number. We were going to set up a separate address and #888 number but with everything going on we decided to use our current address and #888 number.

2) Earlier on the phone, an IRS employee confirmed that foreign nationals are allowed to donate to a 501(c)(4) and that a group may receive donations to form a 501(c)(4) before tax-exempt or legal nonprofit status is attained. See this thread: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?p=1313218

These appear to be the two issues. If you have any other questions, please post them here or contact us at the #888 number.

I would like to ask those of you who spoke harsh words in regards to our organization to post a comment to reflect your current opinion about NationBuilder. Hopefully it has changed as we've attempted to answer all your questions throughly.

Thank you.

If we have ANY questions instead of calling your phone #, you should answer our questions in the same public forum where your pitching it, sir.

First question: Are you PRESENTLY a 501?

Just as an FYI Sandra, I came to a bit of a better understanding with him after having a private conversation.

Watch the website and only donate when you feel comfortable enough to. It could be a good thing.

I am not the OP of this thread.

No, but please call the IRS if you have any tax concerns. I suppose you are suggesting that we should pay federal income tax on the donations we receive, as if it were income in a sole proprietorship, since we do not currently have tax exempt status? Is this what you are saying, to pay taxes on the donations used to organize the 501(c)(4)? Otherwise, nothing is illegal about it.

Please follow the blog if you want to see what we are doing and will be. Especially March 7th, we'll have video and pictures from the GOP Lincoln Dinner.
