My high school has Ron Paul content blocked

Don't know if anyone has asked this, but can you get to the official campaign site? If so, then is your problem only getting to videos and articles as you mentioned in the OP. If that is the case, then possibly the filters are blocking the content because of language used in the comments section of the videos and articles.

Have you had similar problems finding videos and articles from other candidates?

Hi. I haven't posted in a while, but I grounded my mom from the forums because she forgot my name.

I'm doing a paper on Ron for my English class and every time I tried to get at an article or video, I got a message that says

"Blocked for obscene, tasteless material."

I had no trouble looking up anything on Romney or Santorum. (Frothy is blocked, however).

Public Edumacation at it's finest.

Nate

Is RonPaul2012.com blocked? If yes please screenshot that and post it here. In fact could you screenshot examples of what's being blocked? If the official campaign website is blocked that should be sent to the campaign. This could be newsworthy.

The government is an asshole, no doubt, but I doubt there is any true anti-paul malicious intent here. I am more willing to bet that political sites in general are blocked.

I'm skeptical that a school administrator even put that in. I think the OP is likely exaggerating though it is possible he is not.

What I am damn certain on is that no legit company that is selling this software to schools is specifically excluding Ron Paul. These companies exist to make money. If this was out there you really think this is the first we would have heard of it.

You are suggesting he is lying? Wouldn't it be easier just to tell the truth rather than go through this whole charade? The easiest answer is always best, right? You are quite the conspiracy nut.

As much as I loath the ACLU for departing from it's original purpose, they do have a way of making waves.

I love the ACLU. Here in Nevada, they are great. They're defenders of civil liberties, and they're more pro-gun than the Republican party ever was. And when I lived in PA, they defended gun rights people who set up a gun appraising table during a city run gun "buyback" program, set up to destroy guns.

Call the ACLU. One letter from them and I can almost guarantee the school board will back right down.

In all fairness, my first thought was that perhaps there are problems with the sites the OP was visiting. For instance, the software at my school would definitely not allow Ron Paul forums to be pulled up for obvious reasons. It also would have blocked most YouTube videos that allowed comments, since they are usually full of vulgarity and the like. It might be, then, that the other candidates' videos and stuff don't have comments enabled. There might be an easier solution to this.

I agree that the OP should try the official website and, if it's blocked, ask why.

I'm just busting his balls because he so voraciously attacks anyone who believes in any conspiracy perpetrated by the government but seems to have much less faith in the integrity of the general population.

Look up a website for "Proxies" and then follow the instructions on how to insert that into your browser at school. It will bypass the blocking program. If your school blocks proxy searches then look it up on someone's smartphone.

im actually quite sure it was im not certain but i believe ronpaul2012.com was blocked not sure ill check on tuesday when i get back.

At my HS they had all political stuff blocked, games, most news sites, anything not associated with "learning" will be blocked.

I never said lying I think it is an exaggeration. We're 70 posts in and I'm one of the few that is even a little bit skeptical.

I hate group think and I don't like when everyone gets all excited about something without any evidence.

Some software whose goal is to make money went out of their way to block Ron Paul? I find that highly unlikely.

News and politics isn't learning? We had "current events" during social studies and we certainly studied politics in political science.

Basically if a website had ads on it or required java it would be blocked.

Also, yes, news and politics isn't acceptable in school. Don't believe me? Try talking about how 9/11 was blowback during one of those "current events" sessions in social studies. Try doing a search on a school computer for anything about terrorism and see what happens. You have been warned.

Why is this thread STILL on Grassroots?

Get it out. It's interfering with actual Grassroots threads that require attention.
