I don't think so. The amish and mennonites do not have to comply if they choose to rescind iirc. I have heard it stated as they rely on their children and the specific religious community for support in their later years. It is contrary to their beliefs to depend upon the state for aid but is subjective as to which ones comply with the refusal to participate in ss and insurance programs relative to their specific groups policies on the issue (just as issues of transportation and phone are dealt with at a community level...)


that is correct. you can opt out of SS if you're affiliate with a niche religious group. You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get the exemption though
 
f the irs they owe me thousands over the last 3 yrs. My wife might file for me but i do not give a flying f about the irs anymore until they pay me my money!!

Yeah, like I said, if the benefits come from within the cult they can do it. If they have income from outside then that would still be taxed.
