My BLOOD Is BOILING!

On top of your Medicare/SS payments going to a black hole, 5-10% of your taxes will go to pay interest on US national debt.

Not payment on national debt. Interest.

If the US doesn't default and continues with petty cuts at most during a depression, you'll be looking at nearly half your tax payments going toward paying debt interest in 50 years.

I hear you Trey loud and clear! Every year I go in to do my taxes with my accountant, I sit down in his office, in the nice comfortable chair and so begins "the tax debate". His office is stickered with all kinds of funny tax comics cut out and put in areas where he knows whoever is sitting there will see them. I know it's not him, but his job depends on this criminal enterprise. I am self-employed and it hurts everytime around tax season, alot of money goes out and I wonder what in the hell am I doing supporting these criminals. Every freakin year. Then I leave and want to explode. It's like a game too, you never know what you may owe because there are so many laws, write offs and who is doing the taxes. FU%^! Hang in there brother, soon this whole scam will be over before we know it at the rate this country is spending and taxing. 1776!

Kludge, much sooner than 50 years. I think in just 5-7 years. What happens if interest rates spike? We can't even get the politicians to cut the RATE of spending. We are doomed within a handful of years.

it would be...incredibly difficult to calculate how much more money each of us would have if there weren't any taxes...or...they were very very minimal; there are so any distortions or hidden taxes that we never see directly; for example, sugar is more expensive here, than abroad, but we never see it directly, at the store, like we do sales tax, or every week (or two) with the income+payroll taxes. It's higher because of a sugar quota---which, of course, limits the supply; it's a tax on all consumers who eat some form of sugar which goes directly into American sugar farmer's pockets.

Who knows how many examples that are similar to that, that exist on various products...so, really, at the end of the day..."tax freedom day" may be...much further out than we think.

According to David Walker, the entire federal budget will be consumed by the interest on the debt by around 2050, if I recall correct....not 50%.

It's a lot more than 1/3 of your pay. Figure in property taxes, sales taxes, taxes built into the price of stuff you buy. More like 50-60, even 80% on some stuff and if you make a good chunk of money, goes to government in some form.

Lets hope Trey doesnt smoke. The latest cigarette tax increase was only something like 3162% or some ridiculusly high rate, but it translated into doubling or tripling the price of cigarettes. How about gasoline tax? Hell, you know what, it would probably be easier to list things that are not taxed. In some countries there now literally exists a MICROSOFT tax for fucking M$ products.

Here is a short list of what isnt taxed:

Picking your nose

Thats about as much as I could come up with...

yup yup, I'm hoping my tax lady can work miracles. There's also been a lot of talk about MO eliminating the personal income tax so that'd be a massive boost

You need to get away from tax people and accountants and shoulder all of this work yourself. I've been through the tax pro mess and everything is better if you just study it yourself. This is true from import duties to FICA/SECA. I spend a lot of time reading up on the tax code and have done things that no 'tax pro' ever told me about and saved thousands. Every single facet of my tax liability had plenty of room for improvement, I just had to do it myself.

Biggest thing you need to do is get out of the SECA tax asap. You're probably paying more into that than anything else. Consider incorporating and paying yourself dividends/distributions and less wages.

Your business had better be paying for your car, health insurance, and office expenses.

If the government didn't waste so much money on wars and foreign aid and crap we could have WAY lower taxes.

Foreign Aid isnt what overly concerns me. How it is being used is. They like to throw money at the problem and expect it to fix itself. Well someone picks up that money (and the bill!) but it isnt my intent to be selfish and do well at someone elses expense of them suffering. I am more concerned about the "crap" that really is just that, crap! Do we really need a Security Force in a Middle School? Do Govt Employees deserve bigger paychecks than anyone else?

There is one more element that really bugs the shit out of me, and thats the Tax. And it isnt something that none of us like anyway, like a Gasoline Tax, or Income Tax, its far more nefarious. That other Tax is a Hidden Tax: Inflation. And that comes from the endemic problem we have that results from Fiat Currency.

Just got done figuring up my taxes for fiscal year 2010 and I'm madder than hell. Can you believe how fucked up this country is to let the current taxation system continue??? I have to fucking pay the state for "social security" and what kind of fucking shit is that? ITS FUCKING INSOLVENT!

Seriously, about a third of my income has to go to the state!!! ITS LIKE PAYING OFF A FUCKING MAFIA!! THEY DO NOTHING FOR THE MONEY THEY JUST PUT A FUCKING GUN TO YOUR HEAD AND MAKE YOU PAY IT!!!

On top of all that, the money im paying in is going to pay someone elses social security, and bridges in fucking afghanistan!!

Have you thought about rescinding your social security so you won't have to pay it?

yeah that is probably the smart thing to do really. I do have my assets in my business's name however I really have no idea how to go about paying myself dividends rather than wages.

Damnit, I have been paying into social security for over 40 years and I want it back. That is not welfare!

Why even work when the parasite sucks up half our income? Oh dang... I need food and shelter... and money to donate to Ron Paul 2012.

You can get all that from the government by not working (combined with frugality and finding other small back-up sources of income such as cash-back programs from credit cards) and actually hurt the government instead of helping it. Agorism is wildly undervalued by libertarians.

there is also what's called a form 4029 (i think the numbering is right) that essentially allows you to opt out of SS if you are affiliated with a religious group that is opposed to private/public insurance. That are lots of restrictions and the church must have been formed prior to 1950 as well

Has anyone around here actually tried this? Anyone willing to share your experience?

Be glad to point you a direction to talk to someone who has done it: George & Jackie Gordon's number is- 417-273-4967.

Please let us know what you find out.
