Musicians for the D.C. March

I can say Joe Young from Antiseen has run for office as Liberatarian before... oh yeah and their band is KICK ASS!!

That would be great to see Antiseen in concert an added plus for me and my style of entertainment.
However I wouldn't go haywire over to many groups. I love the idea of Revolutionary fife and drums leading the march too.
The march itself and the main speech by Paul must be the center stage and should consume the majority of time, party afterwards.

arlo guthrie

I'm going to try to get arlo gutrie's interest . Old shool protester , ever heard of Alices Restarant ? Ron Paul has mentioned that he likes him . All you young people that never heard of it , take a listen !!!!!! download it, listen and you'll see how it fits in !!!!!!!! 2,000,0000 singing a bar of Alices Restarant , It'd be fricken awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would think we could get a decent array of punk acts. I'm thinking something along the lines of Anti-Flag. Their last album was vehemently against the war and the Bush establishment. Some really good songs on that album.
A huge group that would do wonders for this march would be Muse. I remember about a year ago the lead singer wore a t-shirt with Terrorstorm written on it and he encourage all his fans to Google the video when they got home. I'm pretty sure they are an English group but they tour the states a lot and if they are Alex Jones supporters they would fit right in with the freedom movement. Plus they are very popular right now. Worth a shot right?

A friend of mine that I met at an anti-war rally. He actually was in Iraq and other places in the Middle East. This guy is an incredible hip hop artist. I remember thinking how amazing his album was but he seems to pursue other forms of activism. If we really want to make this a wide open revolution not all about Ron we need to find people like Joe who are great freedom fighters.

I like Willie Nelson and John Mayer . I was thinking also, maybe try to get ahold of Arlo Guthrie. He could do Alices Restaurant . For those that never heard it , its kind of a old school protest with some comic thrown in . I also read somewhere that Ron Paul likes his music. I'm not in the music buisnness but I'm sure he's not hard to get ahold of . Just a thought !

I was wondering when we will have some definite answers on who will be playing ? I am praying there will be at least one or two big name performers. That could be a huge tool to get people to attend the march !! I'm starting to get people interested. But we need the music to help get people involved. If any info is available PLEASE POST

Seconded!
I would suggest Aimeen Allen and Enimen, they made great song videos about RP/Revolution!!!! Did anyone from Revolution March Committee send them an invite? How will all this process work?

In 1994, I was at Captiol Hill and Cindy Lauper was invited to sing there. It was a huge hit, packed and CHAMP!! Never forget her green hair, was my idol in 85's, LOL!

I just contacted Arlo Gutrie through the website arlo.net . If anyone else could contact him on the possibility of him playing that would be great ! The more e-mails the better . I also left contact info. So we'll see if I get any response.

Yes!

They could both come with just their acoustic guitars.

It would remind everybody of Bob Dylan playing in protest in DC some forty years ago!

Speaking of one dude up there with an acoustic guitar, I'd be more than happy to bring mine! I know several of the dylan protest songs "times they are a changin'" etc.... could throw in some Marley "won't you help to sing these songs of freedom"
Just a thought. let me know if I could do something like this, I'd love to!!!

also, i just saw that Mayer is playing a show in maryland the day after the march!

Angels & Airwaves would be excellent, look at the youtube video in my comment, perfect song for our movement. Also youtube the song "The War" by them. John Mayer would be good, there's a video of him on youtube where he defends Ron Paul...someone should contact him.
