Muscatine Journal (Iowa) -- "Candidate excluded from Iowa Debate"

thnx for the Link. Im glad this magazine is bringing this to the light in the very town the headquarters is at.

You're welcome! Indeed, it's a relief to see that at least some of the newspapers in Iowa are covering RP's exclusion from the forum.

Did you see the comment from "youdontevenknow"?

" FYI: When the coordinator for Ron Paul called the ITR office, the man was SCREAMING. Who wants to invite people who act this way? I know i dont want to be in a room with people who threaten lives of employees that dont have anything to do with the invitation process. Im not saying Dr. Paul is at fault but THIS IS SICK. I could understand the fuss if he was the ONLY one not invited, but he wasnt. GET OVER IT. "

What do you want to bet me that this is from 'ol Ed Failure himself? :D

I suggest leaving it alone. It's pretty obvious that he's a jerk and the comments are largely good. I don't think we should spam the comment section.

Not only that, as he's writing in all caps (indicating screaming), he's telling people they shouldn't scream, and even hiding his name by using the name "Ron Paul".

Now that is plain sad....

I think given that this has now received attention on national TV, in national journals on the web, and in a local Iowa newspaper, and given that ITR still is not returning calls, and that the Christian Alliance does not answer the phone, it is time to start asking the corporate sponsors about their views about this controversy.

I spoke with Mr. Shaw from Light Expressions by Shaw daily over the last two days, and he says he has not made any statement yet about this, but he did confirm that his company was linked in some way to this event, I believe as a co-sponsor. Maybe some of Ron Paul supporters might have better luck than me in getting some sort of answers from Mr. Shaw. He has now had two days since my first contact with him, and he told me that he was going to try to contact one or both of the groups sponsoring the event. I think 48 hours is enough time for him to be able to reach one of these organizations, given that he is apparently a co-sponsor.

All calls to him should be nice and professional. I recommend you ask him
1) Is he aware of the issues that have made this a national controversy?
2) Is he going to ask the sponsors to invite Ron Paul to this forum?
3) If not, is he continuing with his plans to co-sponsor this event?

What if we got the sponsors to agree that Ron should be included, and had them each call Ron Paul to invite him. After all, aren't the sponsors paying for part of the event??

Ron could show up (with our support obviously) and meet the sponsors outside (great plug for them nationally), and be escorted in with the sponsors at his side...
