MTG Meets With Microsoft, Says Fed.gov Must Step Up Assistance To Help Protect

Gorgeous day here today. Low 70s and sunny.

Not the best picture, I took that from the top of the hill at Weir's Beach, but zoom it in, it's bikes by the thousands down the hill.

This should go in the other thread, but damn, that looks just like one of the streets that we stopped to eat at East Coast Sturgis in Maryland!

Oh yes, because the government has done such an amazing job when it comes to cyber security.

Microsoft has done the really amazing job on cyber security. Has there ever been an operating system more accommodating to viruses?

Oh, sorry. Am I interrupting by talking about the thread topic? How did you trigger the statist this time, PAF? Did you call into question the conservatism of a blonde, slightly overweight, not bright but loud female Republican or something?

Bleach Blonde Bad Built Butch Body:

MTG: "competition is healthy... but it would be extremely important for there to be assistance from the federal government".

So, MTG, how much is this going to cost me, to "protect companies" of which products I don't own???

So Ron's wrong as well?

Ron was the one who encouraged us all to "open up the constitution and read it". He's the one that pointed out that it's only about 6 pages. I learned from someone else at LRC that it's written at an 11th grade level and should be comprehendable by any high school graduate.

Well, I graduated high school, so I'm equipped to understand what's in that document, and yeah, Ron's wrong.

Outside of the very questionably enacted 16th amendment, where in the main body of the constitution does it authorize the fedgov to levy taxes, in a floating, unequal and "progressive" manner, on wages, salaries and tips earned from one's labor?

FFS, you guys accuse ME of going off the rails, and here ya'll are calling Ron wrong about wanting to abolish the income tax.

Strange days indeed...

ETA - The constitution specifically prohibits an income tax as it is not proportional.

No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in Proportion to the Census or enumeration herein before directed to be taken.

I get that it's the immigrants with no money or political clout who are to blame, and not the fed.gov for funding the NGOs.

So back to topic, are you going to comment on MTG's desire to have Fed.gov assist companies and other people with their personal products, of which you may or may not own? You know, for the benefit of your "community/society/for the greater good"?

Why does that put me in mind of Biden and Teslas?

This was actually an interesting discussion. It appears that Biden created the Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB) to investigate and share best practices for cyber security. They gathered all the information they could from Microsoft, then excluded Microsoft and shared everything with their competitors (which would obviously be Apple). In other words, the usual cronyism and favoritism.

MTG: "Today's hearing with Microsoft highlighted how serious the cyber threat has become.
The federal government must step up assistance to help protect not just big companies but also small businesses and regular Americans."
...

It's strange that MTG emphasized that, as the discussion was more about the failure and favoritism of the Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB).

"The federal government must step up assistance to help protect" ???
...

The only role I see for government in this is prosecuting cyber criminals (theft, fraud, scams, ransoms, cyber attacks, etc), and having secure government computers.

...Trump met with Bill Gates prior to Covid and we got a new Federal Agency OWS. MTG is Trump-Humping so hard it appears that she is following in his same footsteps.

Oh, another thread about Trump. Never mind then.

Why isn't Anti Federalist commenting on that?

Don't you dig his screen name lol?

What's to comment on?

I can't tell you what goes through these rutabaga's minds.

It's a fucking horrible idea, of course.

MTG is an Israel Firster IIRC, so maybe the Small Hat Club's intel agencies and political pressure groups paid her off.

Nothing fucking new there.

Yet another good reason for Auslander Raus!

I was pretty certain the topic had shifted to immigration, and that's what you were talking about.
