Morning Joe opens with Ron Paul hit piece by Dorothy Rabinowitz and then newsletters

Just remember every time you hear Joe Scarborough say something nice about Ron or defend him he's actually just pandering to the Paul supporters.

Yep, let's not forget that the interview where Joe acted so amazed that Paul predicted the collapse, yet this was years after the collapse happened, 2009-2010 I believe. He didn't seem sincere in his astonishment, neither did Mika.

Well he is sitting next to a Brzezinski. And it's clear he values his job more than promoting his personal views about certain politicians. It's obviously policy across the MSM to bare teeth and shred Ron Paul to pieces with all their power. They MUST have an establishment candidate leading.

I wonder if the MSM was this hard on the other Republican candidates or if it just seems a lot worse because it's on Paul now.

It's worse. The media is trying to act like It's been the same with all of the other candidates. The only one who had negative coverage that came close to what Ron is facing is Herman Cain, because he, like Ron, which is only because the allegations that came out against him were too much to ignore. The reason why we say the media is openly biased and unfair when it comes to Ron is because they literally are. When he came within a couple hundred votes of winning the Iowa straw poll, there was a virtual blackout. Ever since he has risen in Iowa and nationally, all of the news coverage that has been done about him has either said that he is unelectable, that the Iowa caucus is irrelevant if he wins, or has been about the newsletters. There has been no objectivity whatsoever.

I can somewhat understand the Morning Joe story in general, they have to talk about the newsletters sometime (although someone should at least be allowed to come on that supports Ron to defend him), but Al Sharpton is the absolute LAST person who needs to be talking about another person's alleged racism.

Edit: To his credit Sharpton didn't talk much at all about the newsletters. Good for him.

I hope we win iowa! If we lose iowa over these letters. It will be our fault! for those folks that want to dismiss these letters etc. last 20 years and the last campaign . Ron Paul was not going to win the gop nomination! I am tired of hearing these are old etc. They will use this to sink ron paul! Ron Paul is winning now. He wasn't in 2008 so he was never a threat!

Sheer panic! This is out of our hands, let the campaign handle it. Also politically there is a HUGE gathering of people who don't trust the government or the media. 73% of Iowans think RP is a principled. Anyone that has heard him talk, studied his message even so slightly will laugh this off. Also they tried this hardcore with Rand, called him a racist, a kidnapper, a pothead, and even said he lied about being a doctor, by the EXACT same people who are attacking Dr. Paul right now. I've heard people on here FREAK OUT 4-5 times now calling the campaign over and done for. He continues to rise, he frankly is dominating now and all we have to do is continue to do what we have been doing. Do people even realize now that our grassroots efforts, calling, and donating is MORE powerful then all of the media combined. They have been harping on Paul for years now and our activities has not only countered their smears but has catapulted him to #1. People need to get a grip, focus on the message, focus on the activites, and we got this in the bag!

When is the next poll coming out after all this media bs?

Not quite sure. Btw I wasn't calling you out personally. I just disagreed with the statement that we ought to do something about it. In a sense we should, but not to counter the "letters" directly. Rather, continue to do what we are doing but just kick it up with a double dose of motivation. One side we push because we could win this, the other push to really create a good image in the people's minds of who Dr. Paul. If we do that the attacks will not matter nearly as much. Also I think people that been here longer have been on the defensive for so many years now. They have failed to recognize that we are winning this war. The establishment has put their best into creating an image of Dr. Paul and so have we and frankly we're dominating!

This hasn't risen to the level of the constant drumbeat over Herman Cain. Take a chill pill. I have no doubt that the campaign is not ignoring this, but to over-react just feeds the beast.

It may become necessary for Dr. Paul to tackle this head on. The best way would be with a press conference and not by going on these shows one by one. It is only way to control the message and if the story gets big, his news conference will get just as much coverage.

Some things to consider.

There were several newsletters being published at the same time and only one it seems has any inflammatory remarks in them (the Survival Report). Dr. Paul was a busy man and it's easy to see that he didn't have daily oversight with all these publications.

From what I can tell, most of these comments are taken out of context and may not look so bad taken in context. The comments about the % of blacks being criminal in DC seems especially like a somewhat sarcastic commentary on a study done be a think tank. The campaign needs to find the easiest one to discredit the media over and accuse them of character assassination.

Joe is really mocking Ron and us today. I don't get why this is happenin.

The Paul situation has become officially threatening to the establishment and all of the MSM talking heads have been given their marching orders. Hopefully the People will see through the BS. Also, it shouldn't be that hard for the campaign to script a response strategy to this newsletter thing. Every question Ron gets should follow up with a monologue on how his ideology helps end race discrimination. This would be the only current footage they could show. It would be free advertizing. Good luck to Scarborough having any access to interviewing President Paul. Ron should simply spend the next 2 weeks campaigning on libertarian talking points to solving racial inequality. Just launch into "civil rights mode."

CONTINUED....

Also, RP needs to contrast his record and his public statements with these newsletters. The contrast is enormous and he can make the media look petty so long as he shows sensitivity to their 'concerns'.

I think timing is critical to addressing these charges. Wait until the media is done so there is little chance of something new surfacing once RP answers to this mess. Waiting too long can be a mistake, too, but the campaign needs to keep the news cycle in mind.

I'm sure there's more if anyone want to add to this. I just posted what came to me fairly quickly.

Politics is a game folks. Let's be in it to win it.

RON PAUL 2102....because America needs him!!
