Mofo Politics pissed at Rands tweet regarding Trump

Over the course of the past 3 years, what was once unbridled enthusiasm slowly morphed into “he’s better than Jeb Bush, I guess”.

But following this tweet, MFP can no longer, in good conscience, support Paul…

People this prone to emotional outbursts tend to be extremely fickle. I will admit that if I was Rand I would have kept my mouth shut on this issue and I for one can't stand John McCain, but Rand's tweet didn't strike me as being anywhere near as obnoxious as it's made out to be. He's essentially echoing something that Trump himself basically said towards the end of the comment that has gotten him into trouble.

I was on the fence about Rand until I got in this huge battle with Mofo over Rands strategy and his policies-he really pushed me over the edge. I felt like an idiot once i realized that may of been his intention all along that he may of trolled me into thinking more rationally. I like to think he has a love hate relationship with the liberty movement, he likes what it stands for but hates that it has to play by the same rules as everyone else. He seems to hate that people aren't smart enough to think for themselves and he has a way of tricking people into breaking through their proclivity.

I thought the same thing, i was thinking fuck John Mccain he can die in a fire Rand should tell everyone the truth that he is war criminal but then im like fuck if i said that to the wrong crowd half of them would hate me and a quarter of them would think im crazy.
 
He probably gained more supporters than he lost with that tweet. What Trump said was douchey, and anyone who can't see that might just be a "deranged psychopath" himself
 
Rand should have just kept his mouth shut. I can understand if someone asked him the question in an interview but why go out of your way with a tweet.

Because he's been criticized for being too silent when controversial issues arise and not commenting on them. What Rand said in his tweet is just common sense that no normal person would ever disagree with.

Trump shot to the top by taking on the media and being unapologetic. I believe Rand dropped in the polls for appearing the opposite. Reinforcing that your a weak suck up to statists that represent everything you are against and the status quo will only hurt him.

Like I said, if he was asked in an interview that was a correct response. There was no need to insert yourself into it with a tweet.

MOFO is a political satire site. The post is probably a parody of hypercritical libertarians who will find any reason in the world to announce they are no longer supporting Rand.

Criticized by who? The MSM that the Republican base despises? He should have either remained silent, or if he did need to speak, he should have made a comment criticized both statements. Remember, what prompted Trump's attack was McCain labeling all Conservatives who care about border security "crazies". Why does Rand's tweet only focus on Trump's comment and not McCain's?

The Message this Sends:
Wealthy, elitist, liberal, backstabbing Senator from Arizona is attacked- Rand is quick to defend him.
Working class Republican base is attacked- crickets from Rand.
