[mod: old thread] Dr Paul. Please Ask The Police To Charge Perry With Assault

Seriously guys, assault? Get a grip. Even I'd think RP was a wuss if he did that.

Ron paul being Ron Paul... he's not one to cry and stomp his feet. He'll win this with honesty and integrity.

I liken this to a teacher giving a child a hug and parents accusing of rape. Please, you guys need to get a life. Some people whether you agree with their views or not are touchy feely when the communicate. It is a subconscious thing. Ron Paul understands the inner-workings of human consciousness, subconscious, and unconscious probably better than anyone in politics. The whole premise and strength of non-violence is to overlook that the nature in others which seeks supremacy in all their actions and words. Filing assault charges is ludacris; MLK and Gandhi are rolling in their graves.

outspoken - you need to brush up on body language. That move is clearly a display of dominance. It is a message of aggression.

Assault? Didn't he just grab his wrist lightly, or is there more to this?

Personally, I don't see how it could be beneficial to get men in uniforms with guns involved over something so petty and minor. Maybe I'm missing something?

It is assault under most state law.

If you so much as touch a person with the objective of putting them in fear of bodily injury it is simple assault and paul could press personal charges if the police did not.

I find it funny that people here think what the TSA does is sexual assault and that touching another person with the objective of putting them in fear is not assault...seriously...touching another person is an infringement of their personal property of themselves.

Ron has the right to express his views without the threat of personal injury. HE WAS MENACING RON.

Settle Down, assault...

POTUS's are supposed to be tough. This was Rick Perry playing alpha dog, and getting stood up to. Anything more, and Ron runs the risk of looking like a wimp.

Which, if you haven't figured it out, is what Rick Perry really wants.

I'm not saying it wasn't a form of aggression... lots of people use this tactic to show dominance all the while pretending as if it were compassion. These people often unconscious of their own narcissism use suttle forms of dominance in their means of communication 'style' to assert themselves and their belief systems. My point is that Gandhi didn't go to the police when someone from government physically forced him to adhere to their rules. Haven't you all worked for someone who does this in the workplace or have a family member who tries to control the family to do what they want? This shit happens ALL the time and it should be seen for what it is... not for overt assault. It is the same track of thinking though that does lead to overt violence in those who are unconscious to human nature's propensity towards dominerance. Ron Paul should have told Perry he was violating his personal space and needs to remove his hand. Just goes to show that Perry does not respect individual rights to freedom imo. A self-defense/karate move would have been warranted by Ron Paul if Perry refused... I would have enjoyed seeing that.

If that man becomes your President,he will be in charge of the greatest military machine in the world, including nuclear weapons. That prospect frightens the living daylights out of me.

Look at Perry's eyes in the large size assault pic 3 posts below.

I agree with the eyes - he is trying to intimidate - he really gives me a check in my spirit - very uncomfortable feeling.

Who is the guy in the yellow tie? He looks like he wants to vomit.

To me that would be the point. You go and touch like that the men with uniforms and guns in the US, see what happens.

I think it can be used to portray Perry as a crazy cowboy and damage his image. But only the grassroots can do it, not the campaign.

this. Ron would look silly making a huge deal of it. A wry remark about Perry's emotionalism, in the right context, maybe.... but not a charge.

I dont understand the asumption that this should be a big police deal. Arrest Gov. Perry? for what? If anything this just shows what kind of person Rick Perry is (If his body language is in fact as bold as people are saying). Dont get me wrong, Perry looks like he is about to kick rons ass. I just think the word "assault" is quite strong for this situation.
This thought that we need to freak out on every petty Ron Paul issue; we are going to pass the message that we are whiners. Whine when it matters.
