Can you guys please spread this everywhere you can? It's about Mitt trying to lawyer up and get RP delegates booted in MA after they won their spots fair and square at the caucuses.

Redmassgroup.com has confirmed that the Romney Campaign will be invoking Rule 5.2 of the MassGOP "Plan for the Selection of Delegates" to the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida by choosing to "not certify" delegates elected at last Saturdays caucuses under the "Ronald Reagan Unity Liberty Slate" banner.

Emails have been sent to Romney Slate Delegates, many of whom finished in 4th, 5th, and 6th place for one of three delegate slots, informing them that the Romney Campaign would challenge Liberty Slate Delegates, and to be prepared to serve as Delegates in their stead.

Further, RMG has learned that Allocation Committee member, and veteran State Committeewoman Nancy Luther has resigned her spot on the Allocation Committee.

Publisher's note: Luther has resigned, Sisk has told Red Mass Group he will not be serving on the allocation committee.

Most observers have interpreted this an effort to ensure that any non-certification of the Liberty Slate Delegates will be upheld by the Allocation Committee upon appeal.

Do whatever you can to help us fight this. If they can just invoke obscure rules, then what is the point of having a convention at all?! The MA Liberty Slate delegates are not being given their credentials as delegates and they may be replaced by the Romney slate that LOST.

Get in contact with the Massachusetts GOP right now! I just wanted to post this as soon as possible, but keep this thread alive and I will post all contact information you may need or want. We must fight for our delegates in Massachusetts to get their credentials and go to Tampa! If we let Romney win this fight, then he will start to do it to others.

5.2 "Certified delegate" shall be defined for the purposes of the Plan as having been certified as acceptable by a qualifying Presidential Candidate's state committee, or such presidential candidate's representative on the Allocation Committee, if any. If neither exists, then the delegate may be certified by the Allocation Committee. In the case of a protest or an appeal, the Allocation Committee's ratification or reversal shall be final. An elected delegate shall not be denied certification by a qualifying Presidential Candidate's state committee, or such presidential candidate's representative on the Allocation Committee, if any, without just cause. Any such proposed denial of certification will not be effective unless upheld by a majority vote of the Allocation Committee.

I'll put it on the front page if you can confirm that is what people there want We won't be stepping on anyone's toes?

Should Mass members only be doing this?

On the bright side, this is a pretty good indication that our efforts and the RP delegate strategy is working.

Its says with just cause. is the just cause they JUST don't like them CAUSE their Paul Supporters?

But I'm thinking it's just cause Romney's gonna be pretty embarrassed when all those MA Delegation Ron Paul signs show up on the tv screen in August.

Don't ask. Just cause is a vague legal term here. The closest definition, although not perfect is, "really good reason, usually from a selected list".
ha ha....I am familiar with that term too (It is also used in Canon Law). I meant "What is their just cause in that situation. What is their argument? (example:Did Ron Paul people stuffed ballots. stuffed ballots give them just cause).(but I was too lazy to explain it and just pasted question).().

So if they're allowed to do this. Can we have our lawyers prevent them from running for president? For a future failure to uphold the Oath to the Constitution? I consider that Just Cause.

Help me find the Precinct-Level data (vote counts) for Romney's 2002 gubernatorial elections. I will analyze this in detail and find out if he was flipping the vote back then. I need the number of votes for each precinct for each candidate for each year he was elected. I have preliminary (coarse) results.

I have discovered recently that he was flipping the vote in California in 2008:

Mitt was sworn in as the 70th Governor of Massachusetts on January 2, 2003 and his single term ended on January 4, 2007. He ran for president after that.

The only data I have found so far is the statement of vote, which gives the results, but not the low level data:
http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleres/statewide.htm
http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/elepdf/2002rov.pdf

Here's the chart from Romney's 2002 elections. Note that the number of data points is small (14 counties), but includes 2.2 million votes. Romney did beat his strongest opponent in the four largest counties: 55%, 56%, 53%, 49% as well as the 6th largest with 58%. This is consistent with the vote flipping that we've seen Romney benefit from throught 2012 and some 2008 races.

Here's the 2002 Governor race chart:

I need to "Precinct-Level data" in order to analyze this more conclusively. Please help me find this data.

@Politics... I doubt there is a federal law that can stop someone from running with "just cause". They likely can only be stopped if ineligible or cannot get on any ballot.

ETA: @ Ron Rules, wrong thread dude.

this proves Mitt is either very worried or very stupid.

worried that he will not have enough delegates; or stupid in trying to push Ron into a 3rd party run. if Paul delegates walk out in Tampa then Obama wins easily
