Mitt Romney Mitt Romney gaffes in Great Britain

I notice that Fox is trying to underplay the situation. The media here isn't being so...... co-operative.

The whole thing has been priceless. Mr. Romney said one thing to a US news organisation (as if no-one here would find out) and then he was forced to back-flip as the media here came after him.

For your sakes I hope you don't get saddled with this nincompoop!

They gave him the easy one to start.. England and the Olympics. Next he will head for Poland, and tell a few jokes, and then on to Israel and WW III. Who can do it? Romney can!!

hmmm , my backside hurts thinking of this prune in the whitehouse covering our butts ... divine intervention come soon

"We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world," the prime minister said, pointedly. "Of course it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere."

SMACK.

Rather weak in the gaffe department. Im not going to bash the guy for telling the truth, even if some Brits are offended by it.

The biggest problem today with politics is no one wants to face the truth.

Truth is..... London has had a huge mess preparing for the Olympics
Truth is..... America and many other countries are broke
Truth is..... War only leads to hate, resentment and cause for terrorism
Truth is..... people can't handle the truth.

The thing of note is that he can't stand behind what he said. So if you tell the truth and stand behind it props, but if you're constantly taking back what you said or making political adjustments then you just look like an idiot who can't speak very well. When Ron Paul speaks the truth he's dropping a truth bomb on you, when Romney does he's on shaky ground that he may have to abandon.

-During His Poland Visit-

"Yeah, you guys sure know how to roll out the red carpet. No wonder your neighbors always invade you first."
"I've been known to enjoy a game of chess. I like to start with a good Blitzkrieg before my opponent can realize he's in danger."

-During His Israel Visit-

"So, I just got back from Poland. Man, those guys are still butthurt over World War 2."
*Awkward stares
"...what?!"
*facepalm

Not really that bad. His criticism of the preparation for the games was appropriate, they are unprepared. Sure they don't want to hear it, but I would rather he speak the truth than lie. Still would never vote for him, but I don't see much wrong here except calling the guy "Mr. Leader" when he didn't remember his name. No big deal really.

Blame that on his aides that didn't put it in his ear enough prior to that meeting. His staff are amateurs.

The Olympics could only ever be held in the capital of England, I can't imagine anywhere else in the UK.

As for Mitt's comments, well it doesn't bother me. I thought he has Welsh ancestry... If it was Mr Paul he'd probably of just said something more polite, and do a quirky laughter as he would be known for. :p
