Mitt Romney Donors...SPREAD AROUND!

Saying that Romney is a shill for the banking sector because bankers donated to his campaign makes as much sense as saying that Ron Paul is a shill for white nationalism because white supremacists donated to his campaign.

The white supremacist sector did not support Ron Paul, it was one independent group. That simple fact breaks your logic.

Not even comparable. If all of Paul's top donors were racist organizations you might have a point...

Actually, no other candidate is getting even close to the amount as Romney is from the bankers. He also has way more money from "homemakers" than Obama who raised far more than anyone. Obama only has around 300k from homemakers.

Couldn't that be from the many, many "wives" in Utah?

Top donor are homemakers??? What??? How does one candidate get 2mil+ from "Homemarker" and the other get nothing from them? Please explain that one.

and Goldman Sachs 200k for romney.... 0 for Ron Paul.

Special pleading.

The bankers have their candidate.... wow...

I'm so sick of the stereotype that bankers are somehow a united front trying to hijack the government for their own benefit. I'll have you know that bankers are as diverse in their beliefs as any other group of people and many of them happen to be libertarians.

Banker is not a dirty word.

Thank you so much. I don't like the government partnership with the huge banks, just like everyone else here. But to turn the word "banker" into a dirty name is a diservice.

Sincerely,

A Person Who Speaks With Bankers Everyday For My Job

fwiw I work for one of those firms on that list - and my $$'s going to the Champion of the Constitution!!

LoL. Why are you so sensitive about that word?
Banks are not necessarily evil, and bankers are not necessarily evil. But when you mix in government, there's where the mischief begins. I know that what I'm saying is just not computing to you...I realize that. You still think that government can somehow be reformed without monetary reform. I don't know why you think this, but I guess you do.

We come from two different worlds. You think central planning is a good thing. I don't.

I think investment banker or "banker" is a bad term now because the general public has been effected by their actions in a negative way. Of course not every investment banker took long-shots with people's 401k's, but many did. On a deeper level, the whole financial "industry" is a root cause of the decrease in actual output and production of real goods in the economy. Ron always talks about our #1 export being dollar bills. there's more gain in moving a few numbers in a computer than inventing something we can sell. So, I think people justifiably hate the system, but they shouldn't blame the guy doing his job making a living for it.
