Michele Bachmann's Law School's Goal Is To "Restore Law To It's Historic Roots In The Bibl

Every lil remark made by Olbermann can be easily explained.
Q. Where did she grow up?
A. Done know and dont care and if she mentioned 2 diff places (hell people move ya know).

Q. She believes God instructed her to go to Oral Roberts Uni (well i guess not really a question).
A. Now i know leftist dont understand the concept of a person seeking direction in their life from God. But for people of faith it is an extremly common practice to seek God's guidence on issues.

Q. Oh her university believes in restorting law to biblical roots.
A. Yes i believe many religious schools and universities have some sort of similar ideas grounded in bible. SO now does going to a christian school disqualify a person from being president ?

Olbermann got the biggest slap in the face when PMSNBC fired his ass and now hes on some unknown channel thats owned by Al Gore. How embarassing.

so will we be hooking kids up for life at 13 and stoning people for blasphemy?

That is a very worthy goal! Since the principles of Scripture lay the basis for freedom in the market and freedom of conscience.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

Matthew 23:15
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

Matthew 23:23
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law--justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

Anyone that thinks that American Law or Legal System has anything to do with the Bible is confused.

Wasn't she an IRS Lawyer?

And Matthew was a tax collector. Judge each according to their fruits. Bachmann is coming up short because her fruits are neo-con, not because she supports the Bible.

BTW, a lot of key historic figures believe the Bible has a lot to do with American and Western law, so a lot of people must be "confused." Take William Blackstone, for instance, in his Commentaries:

"The doctrines thus delivered we call the revealed or divine law, and they are to be found only in the holy Scriptures...These precepts are found upon comparison to be really a part of the original law of nature, ...As then the moral precepts of this law are indeed of the same original with those of the law of nature... the revealed law... is the law of nature expressly declared to be so by God himself; ...Upon these two foundations, the law of nature and the law of revelation, depend all human laws."

I have seen no evidence that she "supports" the bible. I have seen evidence that she uses it when it suits her agenda.

And yes, most "law' was once based on biblical principles.
This too has been so perverted as to be unrecognizable most of the time.

So if Matthew was a tax collector, isn't that at odds with I Samuel Chapter 8, in which the Lord, through Samuel, condemns taxation?

I'm glad I don't need to justify all these little inconsistencies with my beliefs. =/

I'm pretty sure that Jesus referred to Matthew as a "sinner" before he became a Disciple.

Edit:

It was in this setting, near what is today Almagor, that Jesus called Matthew to be one of the Twelve Disciples. After his call, Matthew invited Jesus home for a feast. On seeing this, the Scribes and the Pharisees criticized Jesus for eating with tax collectors and sinners. This prompted Jesus to answer, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners” (Mark 2:17)

But if we are to believe that God sent Bachmann to Oral Roberts University, that means God is backing Oral Roberts. If that is the case, who is Oral Roberts backing for president?

Evangelicals have a tough decision to make. They will either vote again for Bible rhetoric, or they will vote for Bible reality.

The law of this country was founded upon the very Christian belief of Original Sin. It is the primary motivating factor behind the separation of powers and checks and balances found in the US Constitution. When someone claims to want to "restore the law to its historic roots in Christianity" they are appealing to Federalism and the historic truth that the founders were almost to a man Christians. The Bible informed their morals right down to the separation of church and state. They understand that we are a culture, not a government. Our culture can draw on its Christian roots to inform the moral principles behind government law. Principles like non-aggression and liberty.

Considering that Christianity is explicit in its position that all humans and human institutions are corrupted by original sin, disregarding the Christian roots of our land because of what evangelicals or any other human does makes about as much sense as disregarding Liberty because Tim McVeigh blew up a Federal building full of innocent people and their children.
