Michael Savage un-endorses Ted Cruz: "You are now finished... you are a neocon"

Ted Cruz in that clip was every bit as nuts as McCain ever was. Wow. That guy is terrible.

Michael Savage is wrong that Cruz was ever a non interventionist from the libertarian wing of the party.

In related issues, Savage went off on Janet Yellen and the Fed near the end of his first hour tonight. He may never admit it, and while he may complain in the exact same sentence about "Obama downsizing the military", he is literally using the same exact language regarding foreign policy as Rand (and sometimes Ron).

I wouldn't advocate Rand going on his show, but Savage wouldn't be the worst person in the media for Rand to maybe shoot a discreet phone call to one of these days. You're never going to get the Levin/Hannity people, and you probably won't 100% get Savage, but having him in Rand's corner rather than Cruz's corner could have some impact on Rand's credibility with the base

Savage once said that neocon is a word used by anti-semites.

Anyway the wind blows...

Well at least that leaves Rand as Savage's sole endorsee. For the time being.

Savage changes his mind every week. I think he has mental issues.

So....we should focus on Michael Savage instead of the truth that he is telling about Ted Cruz? And Ted Cruz is all over the map. Not to long ago he (Cruz) said that we had stayed in Iraq too long and opposed to the stupid GOP mantra that "Obama left early." That made him sound non-interventionist. And now Ted Cruz is saying lets arm Ukraine? Why? So they can retake a region that was never theirs to begin with? (Crimea).

Savage is a perfect example of the progress the liberty movement has made among traditional conservatives on foreign policy. While he may want to keep/expand the size of the military for the most part, he has really come a long way towards our policy on intervention, arming rebels, etc.

Exactly! Michael Savage "flip flopping" in this regard is precisely what we need. We need more people like him to "flip flop."

Savage is like most people in that his depth of knowledge about current politicians is fairly shallow. He reads an article and hears a clip that makes it seem like Cruz is "non-interventionist". In all fairness, Cruz kept his neoconservative foriegn policy under wraps for many years. It was within the past year that he came out of the closet.

Savage was adamantly non-interventionist back before and during the war on Serbia. He has also been anti-crony-corporatist since he first started on the radio.

So you're saying he's non interventionist every time a democrat is in power?

I could have sworn I heard him talking at length in years past about kicking Muslim ass all over the middle east...

It's possible. He does seem to favor about one out of every dozen or so of the wars proposed by neocons and neolibs. Only one out of a dozen is really pretty remarkable for a talk radio conservative.

Seems like he only supports war when it's portrayed as a direct and imminent threat to Israel, vs. neocons who love every war and incitement to war. Which translates into supporting taking out Saddam, and probably supporting doing something about Iran.
