Michael Savage un-endorses Ted Cruz: "You are now finished... you are a neocon"

Seems like he only supports war when it's portrayed as a direct and imminent threat to Israel, vs. neocons who love every war and incitement to war. Which translates into supporting taking out Saddam, and probably supporting doing something about Iran.

Pretty much this, I think. He's seems to be in favor of any aggressive war that can be linked directly to the defense of Israel, and opposes any aggressive war that can not be linked to the defense of Israel.

Savage drank the neocon kool-aid for a time under Bush Jr, but he's definitely come around to a much better position in recent years. Far from perfect, but also far better than Limbaugh, Hannity and the other "conservative" talk radio hosts. Not only that, but Savage is far more entertaining than any of them. He's still overly pro-military, but his nationalism leads him in a good direction, and his mantra of "borders, language and culture" is pretty excellent, as those are three things that define and maintain civilization (I would add property, markets and identity). Some say he's a phony, but the way he's distanced himself from the mainstream GOP and other right wing talk radio hosts says otherwise.

As for Cruz, he's only really good on immigration. The rest is average to bad, depending on the issue.

What's funny is, Cruz has an almost identical immigration plan to Rand Paul's. It effectively is the same thing. Yet they have chosen to brand themselves in opposite directions.

I love Michael Savage - listen to his podcast daily - but as soon as the word "Israel" or "Muslim" comes out of his mouth, that MP3 file goes in the trash.

Savage is just another CIA asset. His wind blows whichever way he is told to blow. Hint: He worked and lived with CIA asset Timothy Leary in the 60's.

Savage will fall in line behind Sheldon Adelson, Larry Mizel and Leonard Millman in due time.

Savage changes his mind every week. I think he has mental issues.

Maybe. But he's right this week.

Cruz IS a neocon nearing McCain/Lindsey Graham extremes.

Shame too. He had potential.

he's also made a very important point lately which you'd NEVER hear from any other talk radio host, and it's significant because Savage has a large audience among the traditional right-wing base..... He's said, in his words, that the terrorists have essentially already won by bankrupting the United States while turning us into a "prison camp" at home.... This kind of rhetoric tells me he understands what's going on... I know Savage has been on the Alex Jones show once or twice in the past year or so and they're "friends" off the air (they talk, something Savage does with almost no one besides Ingraham).... maybe Alex talked some sense into him
