Reagan's show highlights the biggest obstacle we have in America right now: good vs. bad, Red State/Blue State, For/Against [insert issue], Us/Them. Americans, on the whole, can't seem to get past the fundamental construct that there are two (and only two) sides to any issue - so when a nuanced candidate like Ron Paul comes along - we don't know what to do with him.

We can't just put him in a table and have a check mark or a blank space in a side-by-side. Ron Paul can't just say "our economy is bad" or "our economy is good", he has to talk about WHY and what needs to be changed beyond manipulating a decimal point. When he talks about unintended consequences - you can LITERALLY see eyes gloss over as if to say "I didn't realize I was going to have to think"...are you for it or against it?

Take this to its end and what you eventually end up with is an uneducated and apathetic populace with no discretionary money to support an outlier like Paul.

South Korea has a hundred times the military force of the North. Gimme a break! Their economy is so much stronger, they could produce fifty heavy tanks for every horse carriage with fireworks on it that the north produced.

He's just like too many conservatives today. He goes out ranting about all the crap they disagree with. But then when they have a real chance to deal with it and correct it, they just throw up there hands and say we don't have a chance of changing this. Then they go back to ranting against it again. Reminds me of the Scottish lords who paid lip service to freedom behind William Wallace in the movie Braveheart, then sold out at the last minute to the English for a small bag of coins because they didn't think they could win.

I forget...who was it...right on the tip of my tongue...no...okay, guys, help me out...

Which of our president's said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall!"? When you remove barriers between sovereign nations, the natural exchange of proximity allows better ideas to permeate first at the border areas then gradually work their way inward.

Great fences make great neighbors...indeed.
