The problem with SC is the massive number of northern transplants now here, myrtle beach is a prime example of this. I live there and i cant walk outside without running into a yankee 
Also another issue is Mccain seems to be liked by many, i actually had a converstaion with someone last night and alot of people are convinced that the terrorists will be coming over here to kill us if we dont stay there. Maybe pushing the fact that the troops support ron paul and that hes a vet will help.
Oddly enough alot of people seem to either not care or dont remember that mccain supported amnesty. They all love his straight talk....God i hate mccain

We need to drill the troop donations hard, it helps to eliminate our only disadvantage.
state's rights was code-word for not supporting civil rights in the 1960s. now people not only want the federal government to get smaller, they want the state and local governments to be smaller too. all are overtaxing residents, spend wastefully, and intrude too much into people's lives. so it's the idea of smaller government that attracts people now.

Standing on the battery today for the blimp rally I talked to several people about Ft. Sumter sitting in the harbor. I reminded them that the War to Prevent Southern Secession was fought for States Rights. I told them I was supporting Ron Paul because he was going to give us back those rights without a fight. Then I told them that the Federal Government did not prove that they were right, they just proved that they could beat us in a fight over the issue.

I'll second that, and add CRIME, which is also a big issue thru out the south.
Dr Paul needs to be a bit more assertive too, in my judgment. Attack the traitors in Washington, including those running for president.
I'd also like to know if he's said anything about the base closings.

I'm a Yankee transplant living in Aiken/ North Augusta SC.
I've been doing sign waving and lit drops. Look at people as individuals and not people groups!
