Christmas 2017:

Christmas morning. 1am. My mom was taken to E.R., then admitted to the hospital, after a mild stroke. She'll be getting an MRI today.
8am, My nephews girlfriend, who had been sick, was non-responsive in the morning. Ambulance taken to the E.R. Determination that she had vomited in the night and breathed vomitus into her lungs. Blood sepsis. Was given a 50/50 chance on admittance. Moved to ICU. was upgraded to 99% chance of making it through around noon. 9am, Niece had to go to an emergency clinic for strep throat. All this combined will put of a planned family reunion/dad's 90th birthday over New Years vacation out of the picture.

Sheesh.

It was a tough year as I recall . Fall of Constantinople to the evil ottomans and what many scholars consider to be the end of The Middle Ages . Hard to find a good beer when the barbarians plunder everything .

Thanks all. MRI showed a small clot in a vain in her skull. They are going to do a CT scan using dye to get a better look at it. The vascular surgeon wants to get a better look at that and her carotid arteries which are showing 50-60% blockage. He's weighing whether to treat with medicine or surgery given her age, 86.
I've got an uncorked bottle of Knob's Creek AF. I'll probably crack that tomorrow night.
