I think Meghan is easy on the eyes, but goddamn does she come off as dumber than a box of rocks. 'I think this party is being hijacked and trying to be more extreme'. Newsflash, Meggie, the party was HIJACKED long ago and your asshole father is one of the hijackers!

Now, she is correct that there shouldn't be an Abstinence plank in the Republican platform. The difference between her and me? I want the plank on Education removed COMPELTELY. Its not the Federal government's business or within its powers to dictate Educational standards. I do agree that children need sex education, but its gotta start BEFORE they turn 13 and become sexually active because of puberty.

If she wasn't a Big Government, Interventionist shitheel, I would think she could be co-opted and brought into the fold.

On Colbert last night she sounded almost libertarian: she promoted sex complaining about Bristol Palin's "abstinence tour," said the gov't should get out of the marriage business entirely and the GOP was stupid for carrying this flag, and talked about young voters' issues emphasizing that the GOP was shooting itself in the foot by sticking with these personal issues.

She'll have to grow a lot and start a movement against his dad's ideas if she wants to be a real libertarian. 'Sex' may be one of the biggest political issues of human civilization but there are other lusts that she'll need need to have intelligent views on to claim a liberated mind.

And that's the problem with both Meghan and Sarah....they think nothing of using the government to bludgeon other people into submission. They will mouth platitudes about being for small government and in the same breath speak of getting the government to 'protect' their special interests from us unwashed masses at the expense of our rights.

It just makes me wonder what those people who still believe the GOP can be reformed are going to do about the Meghan McCains of the GOP who are also trying to reform it from those they claim are "extremists hijacking the party".

I am surprised she is not hiding her head after that tough appearance she had on "Politically Incorrect" recently. She seems like a good kid and I actually felt bad for her after seeing her on it. Bill handled her with kid gloves but Begala who I cannot stand and I thought a bit out of line did not. It was pretty clear she does not have the knowledge or education for public discourse.

I agree, she is not ready at all for political limelight despite her efforts to try and insert herself in everything GOP.

But without implying heredity here, neither is really McCain senior despite his poslihed talk style and decades of experience working the Washington circles and media.
