Maui is burning

This is just getting sad now
President Joe Biden finally visits Maui, HI to address the devastation that occurred. But somehow it only appeared to make it worse, as he got booed throughout Lahaina, appeared to fall asleep when listening to Hawaiians talking about the destruction, and compared their loss, to ALMOST losing his Corvette.

I hang my head in utter shame at the "societal harm" to which user4794022699383 and I have so wantonly contributed.

I shall immediately schedule an appointment with O'Brien in Room 101 for the sake of our further rehabilitation.

A search of TikTok turned up numerous videos alleging that Biden fell asleep, again using low-resolution video. One of the posts, a video from the account user4794022699383, received more than 67,000 views.

TikTok’s written policies disallow misleading content that may cause “societal harm,” although it doesn’t define the term. TikTok says it relies on outside fact-checkers, such as PolitiFact and Reuters.

TikTok said it had no immediate comment on the videos.

LMAO. Good God Almighty, that's a long article about how not asleep Sleepy Joe was! Something really put a bug up their nose.

(Who says fearless, hard-hitting investigative journalism is dead?)

You and me both my brother...I hurt myself laughing at that.

Imagine going into a quarter of a million dollars in student loan debt, hustling, and stomping and kissing ass to work your way up to the top of the "journalism" food chain, all the way to ENN BEE SEE (said in the manner that Hannibal Lechter said EFFA BE EYE to Clarice Starling in "Silence of the Lambs") and then have to write copy like that.

I don't care how much of a Marxist shitstick this guy is, that had to be humiliating.

I assume you're referring to this thread: https://twitter.com/benryanwriter/status/1694344017767510106

The guy is being ratio'd into oblivion.

Also, just FTR: I could not care less whether Biden "really" nodded off or not.

That the claim he did is so provocatively triggering as to require rebuttal in the form of a piece of overwrought "journalism" longer than a paragraph or two is more than sufficient to indicate what a shambolic wreck Biden is generally known and understood to be - and the indignant pretense to the contrary is far more interesting and revealing than the particular incident itself.

Maui police blocked escape routes? What the hell?

Hadn't heard about the cops doing it. Others said it was the electric company. Those who got out ignored them, trusted their rubber tires, and drove over downed live wires across the road.

Democrats' climate change blame game for Hawaii fire confronted by reality after Maui identifies cause

Hawaiian officials attributed the cause of catastrophic wildfires to alleged failures from the state's main power utility company and downed power lines this week after Democrats blamed the disaster on global warming.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday, the government of Maui County, Hawaii, alleged Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) and its subsidiaries failed to properly power down live electrical equipment amid a red flag windstorm earlier this month. Due to this failure, downed power lines operated by the utility company sparked a series of deadly fires on the island, the lawsuit claimed.

After weeks of Democrats and climate alarmists claiming that the Maui fire was caused by climate change...

All this translates to is the next time a storm is forecasted, the utility company will shut off your power for your own safety.

They already do it in parts of California, which makes it surprising that it wasn't already implementing in Hawaii. In practice, my power has never been intentionally turned off for wind storms.
