Massie, Khanna demand full release of Epstein files, will try to force House vote Tuesday

PRESIDENT TRUMP: "I don't understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It's pretty boring stuff. I think really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something like that going."\

"Pretty bad people", huh? ... One might almost say ... "deplorables" ... 🤣

.

If you voted for this psychopath, you’re getting exactly what you asked for. You were warned. You chose not to listen. Play stupid games, get stupid prizes.

I'm proud to say that in 2024 for the first time in my adult life I did NOT vote in a presidential election. And I'm happy to see parts of this forum that were completely under the thrall of the Trump demon finally waking up. But those that Trump fooled will only truly be free once they rid themselves of the xenophobia and racism Trump used to trick them.

How silly was it to try to attach this to a cryptocurrency bill?

If I were on the rules committee, I may have voted against it myself. It's almost like they tried to put it in a place that gave cover for anyone voting against it.

They all know this was an Israeli spy operation. And they all know they're all complicit in it. All of these maneuvers and statements and proclamations on the issue are purely theater.

I agree.

But if they're gonna pull the same shit when they bitch about Massie not supporting things like the BBB, then fuck 'em.

When hypocrisy is de rigueur, turnabout is fair play.

So, when is the actual vote on releasing the files?

"That's not true. There was no vote on the Epstein files this afternoon - despite Democrats trying to trick the media and dumb libs like you into thinking otherwise.

Here’s what really happened: Democrats claimed that if the Previous Question failed, they’d offer an amendment to force the release of the Epstein files.

But a Previous Question vote isn’t about Epstein—or any specific issue. It’s a procedural vote to end debate and let the majority control the floor.

If it fails, the minority takes over.

In today’s GOP-led Congress, Democrats have no shot at defeating the Previous Question.

So they played games—knowing it would fail—and then falsely claimed Republicans voted against releasing the Epstein files.

This was a routine, party-line procedural vote—nothing more. In fact, a Previous Question hasn’t failed since the 1980s."

You guys did it. The base has swamped the switchboards. No more protecting pedos. Why would any politician be against this?

Next: Take the vote before the August recess, there is time. Or there will be no end of mischief during that time.
Don't get your hopes up. They'll find a way around this. In their minds, they're not protecting pedos; they're protecting Israel. Shielding the pedos is just an added bonus.

And as an another added bonus, they get your vote too, even if elections are held next week. Because "lesser of evil", and it's the "libertarian" thing to do. Right?

Every damned thread with you guys...

Again, the alternative would not have yielded anything better on this front. But, whether or not you like to acknowledge it, there are some positive trade-offs on other fronts (border, climate scams, energy).

Probably not. But change cannot happen until somebody draws a line in the sand, goes out on a limb, and says, let's stop doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

People are herd animals. There's a thing called a tipping point, and PAF, cc and I aren't enough by ourselves. And we never will be as long as, when push comes to shove, other smart people like yourself are willing to settle for the slightly less monstrous.

These are the times that try men's souls. But if this nation doesn't get out of this rut, we piss it all away. That's the ugly reality.

Does this discharge petition have an H. Res. number that we can look up on congress.gov to confirm that it has 219 cosponsors?

Or is that not how discharge petitions work?

My recollection of when Ron Paul forced the vote on Audit the Fed, is that was how it was done. But I may be misremembering.
