Maine GOP establishment strikes back

The Maine Republican Party is at it again. After all the antics we went through during the Ron Paul presidential campaign with the caucus and convention, they're at it again. National Delegate Bryan Daugherty, who also ran Mark Willis's campaign against Reince Priebus for RNC chair, ran for Penobscot County chair. He lost to former U.S. Senate candidate Deb Plowman.

The loss was not fair though. The bylaws were suspended illegally, proxies were mishandled, votes were accepted by phone, and it was an incredible mess. One individual who was spotted at our State Convention handing out fake slates was on the ground outside the Penobscot meeting and election, making phone calls the entire time. Some speculate he was calling in people to vote, although it is not completely confirmed as of yet.

I wrote about this for my Bangor Daily News blog Undercover Porcupine. Check the article, "The Penobscot Heist: When Republicans Play Like Democrats"

I have a follow up going out on Tuesday, titled "Penobscotgate"

We've already had one State Committeemember resign over this mess and a couple more seriously considering following.

The appeal that was sent in regarding the election was rejected by the State, claiming that the individual had no grounds to appeal. If only Jan Staples and Peter Cianchette (who filed the delegation challenge) had filed it instead!

We will be rolling out a Facebook campaign in the near future to turn up the heat, tentatively titled "We Are The Unaffected", in reference to their dismissal of Ken Anderson's appeal.

They're not going to give up power easy. The liberty movement is going through hell all over again in the Republican Party.

Keep fighting Chris, if we keep coming with big numbers eventually there will be nothing that we can do. Don't be discouraged, momentum is on our side!

And thus the attempts to hold onto power are still there. And you wonder why people think trying to make inroads with the GOP is a bad idea when stunts like this are pulled. I'd like to say things will work out for the best and maybe they will...but that'd be wishful thinking. You have to strike back. Hard.

The backstabbing of Hagel by fellow republicans, the re-hijacking of Maine by the establishment hacks, and the coming purge of Paulites in 2015 to prepare the state parties to rubber stamp or steamroll Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio in 2016, was all to be expected. It actually isn't as bad as how it would be if Romney had won and was actively steering the hardball tactics from the White House, but it's still bad. Just remember it's not just 'old-timers,' there are special interests (MIC, AIPAC, Big bankers, etc) who are protecting their control of both political parties, down to the state organizations.

This should all be expected. If we don't have the numbers in a particular state or county to take over, either by ourselves or as part of a Tea Party coalition, the goal should be to give them such a close run for their money that they have to act like outright tyrants to keep control. That makes it much easier and more credible when we expose their shenanigans to the general public and blast the dirty laundry as far and wide as we can. Try to keep in mind that forcing this kind of behavior into the open is a victory in and of itself, because creates ammunition for recruitment for the next fight.

Amen to your post aclove! I hope you're well.

This is why we have to keep turning out Liberty activists to these off year conventions. Every single vote does count here!

Thanks everyone, it's been a heck of a fight already. We can't re appeal because they sat on the appeal denial until the deadline for an appeal to be filed. So it's game over there. The new chair has made it clear he will not revisit this issue.

A cover photo has been created in response to the mess: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10200657881080285&set=a.3491900867081.156861.1558315705

Tuesday, my next article will be going out and we're going to be launching a campaign to pressure the Maine GOP. Time to turn up the heat!

No one should resign, what we need is to take over. And have media there if possible at future times, but I don't know if it is.

Thank you for fighting and for keeping us up to date!
