Dobbs Hedging Bets
I posted this in another thread, but it works here, too.
I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I think Lou & Co. are actively promoting the potential 3rd party candidacy of Bloomberg. If you watch closely, you'll see the new spots CNN runs for Lou Dobbs that prominently feature phrases like, "Americans are INDEPENDENT", "INDEPENDENT this and INDEPENDENT that", etc. The way I see it, Lou disses our man b/c he wants to promote the notion that there is no other option than an independent candidate run. Lou and the editorial staff of CNN are hedging their bets so that they come off as prescient when the GOP fails to get it together behind a single candidate.
I'm thinking he's pimping Bloomberg with maybe himself as a VP candidate.
That's one possible reason I can come up with for Lou Dobbs ignoring the elephant in America's living room, Ron Paul.
Here's another, and it leads one to consider the 3D Chess Strategy that's going on with this race. Ron Paul and his staff are surely considering "if" and "when" scenarios every day regarding a potential independent run. As the GOP field thins, the central question is, will the party faithful ever come around to supporting Dr. Paul?
I think not, and I think Lou thinks not, and I think he's staked so much of his career on the whole "independent" moniker that he can't support Ron Paul.........yet. Maybe he's holding his cards close, waiting on Dr. Paul to jump the GOP ship. The optimist in me likes to think so.
The realist in me says Lou Dobbs is a whore.
