Live: Obama announces Iran has secret nuclear facility

yep, and this announcement comes on the exact day the Audit the Fed hearing takes place.

Look, you need collateral to keep borrowing

As long as countries diss the dollar and the US needs money, the military takes control of the resources. Sadaam did it and got invaded. Iran did it and will get invaded. If you control the resources you have collateral for more loans. The worse the economy becomes the more likely Iran gets whacked sooner.

What I am not understanding is how the US is going to PAY for 'whacking' Iran?

Is China going to loan us money to pay for it?

I don't know ... anyone think they will?

The U.S. cannot fight a war against Iran. The retribution would be swift and horrifying. The politicos know this. If you think Iran will go down without a whisper like Iraq, you're trippin'.

That isn't to say that China won't lend us the money to (wouldn't they love the opportunity to profit off of that!), because they would. Hell, they'd probably even let us pay off the note with the spoils of war.

I know this - but do the politicos REALLY KNOW THIS?

I'm serious.

I think they believe quite a large portion of their own bullshit.

Iran and Israel have secret programs?

Why doesn't UN declare mideast nuke free zone, they should be focussing on prayers and holy deeds, why the hell they need WMD programs. Insanity.

Because nobody who has them, including Israel and Pakistan, are going to give their nukes up.

Israel's entire program is essentially illegal. They never got anybody's permission to build the damned things.

Does anybody believe the stuff the government say about Iran? Didn't they say the same things about Iraq? It's ridiculous.

In other news, Iran recently dropped the dollar in favor of the euro for exchange.

Which middle eastern country was the last to do the same? Oh yeah, Iraq, right before the war.

Yeah it is unclear what the powers that be are trying to do here, whether they are trying to start up the war drums or just rally more global pressure against Iran.

Remember Obama's former foreign policy advisory Brzezinski recently said we should be prepared to turn back any Israli jets that are trying to preemptively strike Iran. Brzezinski doesn't seem like the type of guy who would hesitate to call for a preemptive strike against Iran if he really wanted to.

No, they don't need to loan us anything but their faith!

Who needs a "loan" when the printing press can just gin up another trillion or five trillion dollars for another war, if needed to "protect the dollar"?

Defense contractors are smiling; employees working OT and getting high pay from more brand new inflated money - their stock must be up too.

The question should be, will China also continue to take trillions of newly printed dollars for the goods we buy and also invest in US bonds that promise to pay back even more inflated dollars?

Everything looks bright green from the federal reserve's perspective, so what's the problem MsDoodahs?

We are so screwed.

Iran Replaces Dollar with Euro in Foreign Exchange

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered the replacement of the US dollar by the euro in the country's foreign exchange accounts.

The September 12 edict was issued following a decision by the trustees of the country's foreign reserves, press tv quoted MNA as reporting on Sunday.

Earlier, the Islamic Republic of Iran had announced that the euro would replace the greenback in the country's oil transactions.

Iran has called on other OPEC members to ditch the sinking dollar in favor of the more credible euro.

Following the switch, the interest rate for the facilities provided from the Foreign Exchange Reserves will be reduced from12 to 5 percent.

Since being introduced by the European Union, the euro has gained popularity internationally and there are now more euros in circulation than the dollar.

The move will also help decouple Iran from the US banking system.

Agreed. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what they're going to do.

There's that word "illegal" again. I know you and I have a difference of opinion when it comes to Israel, but sovereign nations are just that - sovereign. Why does ANY nation need to get "permission" to conduct their own affairs? What law applies to Israel? The NWO?

I am making this same argument as regards Iran and yesterday's threats by Obama that this sovereign nation must comply with international demands to put an end to their nuclear program.

Israel is not a bound by the NPT and Iran is so it is "illegal" for Iran to have a nuclear weapon but it is not for Israel.

I think Iran is just trying to provoke an Israeli or US attack in an attempt to get the Iranian citizens to rally in support of their government instead of trying to overthrow it.
