List of famous potential supporters?

I know this as I formerly opened his congressional mail and composed replies on Quorum--the house office correspondence database.

Ah ok, cool. I didn't know that you actually read his mail.

I wasn't sure how someone like yourself could have known without reading the actual letters that come into his office.

Just wanted to clarify if you knew for a fact that lots of celebrities were writing him, or if you just had heard from a friend of a friend. ;)

Though he stepped into a Statist mess in running the Fed, much of his commentary before and after his tenure there is staunchly libertarian, including but not limited to his most recent commentary regarding "private currency" as the next big thing.
Do you know where he made a statement like this? I rather like the idea of currencies not sponsored by a state, but I can't find much on it.

I think Ron Paul's popularity is more of a symptom of the internet's rise in popularity. Well, I guess thats a no-brainer, but my point is that as the internet grows, I think we'll see more people like him in the future. With television's channel-switched networks, the candidates were limited in air-time, and so had to look slick and condense their message into soundbites. They had to make a good impression in a limited amount of time, and thats not a process which rewards the sort of qualities we look for in a politician. With the internet's packet-switching, the amount of time someone can spend reading about a candidate is virtually infinite. The whole political process begins to reward people with actual depth, and not just slick haircuts and catchy phrases. It can go from appearance-based to more fact-based (at least until the politians catch on, and it becomes appearance-of-facts-based).

I adore the Willie Nelson idea.

lol...how absolutely perfect that would be!

:)

Workin on it! Jimmie Vaughan should already be in for whatever. Lotta really great bands on our page have come forward to work with us on plans for the first Ron Paul Concert Project tentatively scheduled for Jul 4 in possibly San Antonio.

Come over to www.myspace.com/bands4ronpaul to see more details and the planning stages. And experience radical Music Culture that desperatly wants Ron Paul to succeed!

This is a winner. I was already trying to fiure out how to suggest to those guys that they could easily make a South park episode out of the farcical events of the 2nd debate. Anyone know how to send those guys suggestions?

This is a good idea. I'll try to find their Agent if not communicate with them directly.
and just see what they think of Ron Paul.

Matt Groening is a viable possibility, yeah?

Trey Parker and Matt Stone made clear their stance in 2004 with Team America and I recently heard they're most likely to support Hillary on the basis of how strange it would be to have her as president, which is very unfortunate to hear. Perhaps they'll come around and at least find a way to parody the neocons in some slight form by the time the second half of this season kicks off. With you 100% on that, mdh. Name recognition is vital. I personally still hear "who's Ron Paul?" too often for a guy vying for GOP nomination.

Hugh Hefner, Snoop Dogg, Tommy Chong and Howard Stern would provide an edgier support, but almost any support is beneficial. Honestly, I think there's a breaking point Faux News will reach where their smears will eventually rub their viewers the wrong way, but they've yet to max out.

A strong, relatively controversy-free candidate for support with good media reach on ABC's 20/20 is John Stossel. He's announced his support at recent lectures in New Hampshire, but I wish he'd be more vocal about it. According to Students for Ron Paul, he finds Paul intriguing in thought, but a bit dull as a speaker.

Chris Rock is another potential supporter, as well as Keanu Reeves. (a bit of a sidenote, but did anyone besides myself enjoy the film adaptation of A Scanner Darkly?)

The main problem lies in finding a way to get any of these celebrities involved, especially when the only news on cable television demeans the man (as well as ourselves...all 83 of we 'viral' beings) and he's only included in polls after we write in requesting fair treatment.

Its not so hard,I know how to find the agents of every band, other celebrities probably isnt too different. Myspace is really great for finding all kinds of connections.

Right Now on www.bands4ronpaul.com either Noam Chomsky or a Rep who runs his myspace page has joined our Group Forum and our Page too. I dunno if that means hes a Ron Paul supporter yet. Hopefully we'll find out. Be great to have
and interview between Noam and Ron Paul, they have alot of Very similar views
and Noam is a loved Speaker at many many colleges around the U.S.

Ron Paul Concert Project

We're working with the Campaign Heads on the first Ron Paul Concert Project right now. At first we had a tentative date for July 4th. But the campaign suggested moving it to July 14th which is better for Ron Pauls schedule and he wants to be there! Location is also tentative, San Antonio is one place we're looking at right now. We've got some great musicians on board already and getting more. Jimmy Vaughan is probably going to play and
The Three Shoes Posse too

Best way to reach me is on www.myspace.com/bands4ronpaul but if you just hate myspace too much to get an account. You can email me at [email protected] also

Thanks! -Joel

They are libertarian (not self-proclaimed) but I believe they are pro-war as well, and they don't share the same passion for opposing the fed and supporting the gold standard, not any that I am aware of anyway.

Besides, whoever is on South Park is ridiculed, they go after golden cows, politicians and celebrities, not paint them in a good light.

I would rather have Rudy on there.

Sort of, but in politics there is a saying, all publicity is good publicity. Of course, there are exceptions, but getting his name out there may help. I think people know that South Park is a joke anyway. Mel Gibson is a favorite of theirs and he has had record sales. :)

Matt Stone
Trey Parker
Michael Scheuer
Jon Stewart? Seems pretty liberal, but hates the war and partisan politics.
Steven Colbert, ditto to above.
Milton Friedman (yeah I know he's dead, but an obvious libertarian)
Antonin Scalia (one of 2 originalists on the supreme court)
Colin Powell? (Seems he felt pretty bad about the lies he spoke to get us into Iraq, but his Powell Doctrine seems pretty reasonable, supposedly called neocons "fucking crazies")
Alan Greenspan? (I've always wondered if Dr. Paul really disliked him, or just the shoes he filled)
Nancy Reagan
Arnold Schwarzenegger? (supposedly a big Milton Friedman fan)

The lies he spoke?

Why is it that the intelligence agencies of the respective member's of the security council AGREED with the information that we had? Those agencies would have conducted their own intelligence gathering, and based on what THEY knew, they told their ambassadors to vote in favor of resolution 1441.

Can you answer that?

Can you answer what happens when a signatory to a cease fire agreement violates said agreement?

Better yet have you been to Iraq?

If not then spare us from the democrat talking points

interesting thing about trump...

he's good friends with giuliani, but after the rosie/hasselback argument on the view, he took rosie's side. he said only an imbecile could defend the war. so is he calling his good friend an imbecile?

Jack Black.
Mike Myers.
The entire cast (that's still alive) of Monty Python

(I can dream can't I?)

Jen

Has anyone mentioned Judge Napolitano?? A self-described pro-life libertarian and constitutionalist.

Dennis Leary
Kurt Russell
Tom Selleck
Jimmie 'JJ' Walker
Neal Peart
Dwight Yokum
Larry Elder
Katherine Albrecht

ever since iraq, larry elder has become a neocon hack. i miss the old elder that would criticize both parties and have ron on often. now he panders to david dreier and doesn't call out dreier when he says he's libertarian. of course, he calls out bill maher for saying it.

I just had a great idea

Thinking about who would be the ideal famous person to endorse Ron Paul, I could come up with no one better than:

BRUCE WILLIS

Why he might be savvy to it.

-Willis is a self-described "conspiracy theorist" and subscriber of Alex Jones who is a staunched supporter of Ron Paul.
-Willis has come out and spoken of his beleif that the powers that be/shadow government were responsible for the JFK assassination and Ron Paul would be the man to break the cycle or die trying.
-Willis is very pro-gun and there is no other candidate more pro-gun than Ron Paul.
-Willis was a hardcore neocon until he learned more about the realities of the Bush administration and our shadow government and changed his tune, he is a reformed neocon.
-Willis is very patriotic and loves his country.
-Willis is a Republican
-Dr. Paul said that we should not be afraid of people who make alot of money in the entertainment industry. An appeal for Hollywood support maybe?

Why it would be good for the Ron Paul Campaign.

-Willis has a new movie coming out called "Live Free or Die Hard", a perfect slogan to be associated with Ron Paul.
-Willis is a bad ass
-Willis will grab alot of attention from the Republican base and all the neocons
-Willis appeals to the warmonger supporters of Fred Thompson who need to jump ship over to Ron Paul.

I have no idea how to get this idea in motion. Any ideas?

Colin Powell....CFR member, NOT a good choice!

He talks out of both sides of his mouth, and can't be trusted. Many people are not who they appear to be, need to be very careful. Just like Fred Thompson is not who he portrays himself to be. They wear a mask and are skilled liars! Yes, I said Colin Powell is a liar! He well knew the 'intelligence' info on Iraq was fabricated. He pretends to be against the neo-cons, it's an act. The good cop/bad cop scenario that the CFR, etc create on purpose to deceive us.

Like the idea of Bruce Willis! Definitely NOT Arnold Schwarzeneggar! That guy has fascist dictatorship dreams, and is con artist extaordinaire. He and Rudy I'm sure are chums.

Also, love the idea of the SC gov, but NOT Chuck Hagel (also CFR member who talks out of both sides of his mouth). Another actor.

Start researching people! There are many two-faced politicians out there.

Dennis Leary
Kurt Russell
Tom Selleck
Jimmie 'JJ' Walker
Neal Peart
Dwight Yokum
Larry Elder
Katherine Albrecht

The so-called libertarian Dennis Leary is one of those pop-libertarians, like Bill Maher.
He's libertarian where it suits him. Lately he's not even funny, he just goes on pre-emptive strikes and how awful the people in the middle-east are.

He had Ron on the show and doesn't agree with him.

Trent Reznor

Has anyone listened to Year Zero on here? Look up the lyrics. The man truly understands what this is all about.

Oh yeah, and he has a legion of LOYAL followers who would do anything for him... i being one of them ;) Though i prefer to think for myself, for the most part. But he's who needs to get involved and i really pray that it happens.
