List of Amendments to Watch for NDAA FY 2014...to be updated throughout week!

Urge support for the Blumenauer (D-OR) Amendment (along with Mulvaney (R-SC) and Bentivolio (R-MI)).

"An amendment, offered by Mr. Blumenauer, numbered 2 printed in Part B of House Report 113-108 to reduce from 11 to 10 the statutory requirement for the number of operational carriers that the U.S. Navy must have."

There will be a Roll Call Vote later on today. Thank you to Reps. Blumenauer and Mulvaney for speaking in support of the amendment. LLPH will score a YES vote on this amendment.

You know...I'm so disgusted by hearing these Democrats and #RINO speaking in favor of DRIP that I've decided to score Coffman Amdt. #NDAA

I plan to support Coffman Amendment to stop wasteful DRIP Program and move it to a less wasteful part of DOD. #NDAA #tcot

"An amendment, offered by Mr. Coffman, numbered 5 printed in Part B of House Report 113-108 to cut $250 million from the Defense Rapid Innovation Program (DRIP), and move the money to alleviate training and readiness shortfalls."

I've changed my mind and will likely score the amendment.

Debate now on McGovern Amdt. on Afghanistan War :

Speaking in favor: Adam Smith (D-WA), McGovern (D-MA), Jones (R-NC), Rohrabacher (R-CA)

Against (kind of): Thornberry (R-TX)

The amendment establishes the sens of Congress that should the President determine the necessity for post 2014 deployment of U.S. troops in Afghanistan, the Congress should vote to authorize such a presence and mission by no later than June 2014."

There will be a roll call vote on this amendment later on this evening.

Now the fake Goodlatte amendment that is suppose to be the alternative to the Smith-Gibson Amendment.

Rep. Salmon is now speaking in support of the Radel Amendment! :)

Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) speaking on indefinite detention now. He opposes it.

An amendment, offered by Mr. Radel, numbered 12 printed in Part B of House Report 113-108 to require the Department of Defense to submit to the Congress a report every year containing: (1) the names of any U.S. citizens subject to military detention, (2) the legal justification for their continued detention, and (3) the steps the Executive Branch is taking to either provide them some judicial process, or release them. Requires that an unclassified version of the report be made available, and in addition, that the report must be made available to all members of Congress.

Amendment Agreed to By Voice Vote!

Debate now on Denham Amendment allowing undocumented immigrants to serve in military. #NDAA #AskNDAA #tcot

What was the Goodlatte amendment?

It pretty much restates the 5th Amendment and says that the bill upholds it. But Rep. Amash says that Smith-Gibson is the only correct one.

Update also: Debate on Turner amendment concluded: An amendment, offered by Mr. Turner, numbered 21 printed in Part B of House Report 113-108 to require the President of the United States to convey to Congress the details of any proposed deals with the Russian Federation concerning the missile defense or nuclear arms of the United States.

En bloc amendments debated afterward.

An amendment, offered by Mr. Holt, numbered 22 printed in Part B of House Report 113-108 to strike all of subtitle C of title II except section 237 (Iron Dome program).

Debate has been concluded and Holt has asked for recorded vote.

Now debate beginning on McCollum amendment to "Prohibits any funds authorized in the bill from being used to sponsor Army
National Guard professional wrestling sports sponsorships or motor sports sponsorships. The amendment does not prohibit recruiters from making direct, personal contact with secondary school students and other prospective recruits."

This amendment is really good.
