From the John Dennis Campaign:

I am a father, husband, and entrepreneur... I have been volunteering on behalf of Texas Congressman Ron Paul since 2007 and was endorsed by Dr. Paul.

I recently beat out 4 other candidates to earn the right to be the sole candidate to take on Nancy Pelosi for her congressional seat.

Americans from across the country have begun again to support this campaign. It is a symbol of the unstoppable American commitment to individual liberty that we will support the fight against our would-be oppressors in every dark corner of the land.

When politicians ask for money, and when we contribute, we do it precisely for this reason. We come together, give the warrior the resources that he or she needs to fight to preserve and protect your liberty.

For me this is the highest political value, the preservation and protection of individual liberty.

I’m honored to take this charge, and I would be honored if you can chip-in $3 as a token of support of my campaign.

Because I'm not serious about actually joining congress and would rather spend time and money on a campaign that has no hope because it is one of the most partisan districts in the country giving any democrat a +35 lead just because their name has a D behind it.

A protest vote is better than no vote at all. Don't be so fixated on the odds and focus on making a difference.

Everyone, please write e-mails/phone to these influential organizations who had not endorsed Pelosi yet! We can win this with help and massive amount of phone from home volunteers. I plead all of you to defeat Pelosi, if James Fang can get elected as a R in San Francisco, then John Dennis too can! It only takes some minutes to write or phone and not money!

Thanks, and if this John Dennis beats Pelosi, he will actually have enough name recognition to run for president in 2016!

I suspect he would earn more votes as the alternative candidate if he ran under some catchy third party name like 'the Classical Liberal party' rather than the Republican party.

Obviously it's too late to do this for 2012.

Actually, Dennis got the most votes of any Pelosi's opponent in decades. He just keeps building up until the Pelosi dam cannot hold anymore tsunami.

Also encourage your buddies to write an e-mail or call some of these organizations to get support, volunteers, and fundraising. 5 minutes off of this forum won't kill you.

You missed my point. My point was that I suspect, just as many San Franciscans will vote for Pelosi simply because of the D next to her name, they will never vote for anyone with an R next to their name.

It's great that John got that many votes in 2010. I just think he would get more as a third party candidate than as a Republican.

If you still don't see my point: Rather than thinking of Pelosi's district as super-Democratic, think of it as super-anti-Republican.

Advancing the libertarian cause is the purpose for running for Congress. Nothing else should be the focus. Running in that district and outflanking Pelosi on her left on war/civil liberties/environmentalism could reach a few people rather effectively.

I was once away from this forum for 5 minutes. I had a heart attack, a stroke and the value of my home dropped by 14%.
