Hey guys - I've got an idea for a smartphone/tablet app that I wanted to share. Basically, its sole purpose would be to track liberty candidates and send out push notifications to anyone with the app installed to remind them of important voter registration deadlines, election days, which candidates support the Liberty movement and to promote various other Liberty related events or fundraisers. It could also send out push notifications if action is needed - perhaps providing a simple way to send an email to your Congress critter when an important vote comes up...like the Audit the Fed bill this July.
Tons of people have smartphones now, and the number is only increasing. The Ron Paul movement has always been on the forefront of technology, social media and harnessing the power of the Internet. We need to make this app a reality. We can promote it on all the various Liberty related Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as here, the Daily Paul, Ron Paul Flix, etc. I truly believe that Ron Paul supporters simply didn't show in full force this election season. Perhaps if we had an app reminding these people of important dates, polling locations, etc...they would be much more likely to show up and cast a vote for a Liberty candidate. This could help us infiltrate all levels of government.
I imagine we could hold a fundraiser and contract this out to a professional developer for a reasonable amount of money. Perhaps this is something that the Campaign for Liberty should be in charge of. Either way, I would like to see this happen. I think it could prove to be invaluable in the coming election cycles.
