Libertarians to GOP Establishment – Back Off!!!

I had a feeling the GOP would attempt to do this.....

by Mark W. Rutherford

The Republican, anti-Trump establishment is concocting a strategy to hijack the Libertarian Party by taking over its ballot access.

The Republican establishment wants to fraudulently become members of the party, attend our state conventions to become delegates, and take over the national Libertarian Party convention.

Not on my watch.

I have and will continue to fight off these attempts by the Republican establishment, no matter whether at the local, state and or national level.

Donald Trump’s rise to prominence in the GOP is a byproduct of their insistence to run establishment, big government candidates and ignoring liberty-loving candidates. I’ve seen how they’ve treated liberty-loving candidates by denying them party office and their rights as delegates at their conventions.

Mark W. Rutherford is an attorney in Indiana and is running for National Chairman of the Libertarian National Committee in 2016.

All the Libertarian Party needs to do in order to prevent this is treat these GOP establishment types EXACTLY how they've treated us at their convention. Who knows, if these so-called establishment types get a dose of their own medicine, they might learn something, though I doubt it.

I don't believe Libertarians are Trump supporters. But I do believe, Libertarians should stand up to the GOP for hitting Trump with the same rules they set in place to kill Ron Paul's nomination. F'k them bastard GOP pieces of mule dung. And if we don't stop this now????? We will face the same shite in 2020 when Rand runs again.

STOP IT NOW !!!!! Rand is a fool not to stand with Trump to take this corrupt system down. He doesn't have to agree with his politics or endorse him, but he does have to agree with faireness and voter's rights and STOP the GOP hijacking of any candidate with the most popular vote.

Just when the LP has an opportunity to become relevant, leave it to them to run the other way.

I agree! Rand is making a big mistake to not mend fences with Trump. He still has a chance to influence his policies. Rand can make it clear that he has many important disagreements with Trump, but will seek to cooperate on areas of common ground, such as non interventionist fp.

No, I think they want to use the LP to run someone against Trump.

I read somewhere else where someone was speculating that Trump might bribe the LP into nominating him if he can't win the GOP nomination.

But this would be just as bad.

You mean mend fences like Christie and Ben Carson did?

The problem is that nobody knows what Trump is actually going to do. There is always the possibility that Trump has been lying his ass off this whole time, and if that is the case then the last thing that Rand should do is jump on board this late in the game. The best thing he can do right now is not involve himself any further and if/when Trump takes office and starts actually doing good stuff, then he can work with him.

I'm not sold on Trump being for real yet, and assuming that he is before he's done anything is an exercise in bad faith.

I feel like the OP was more in reference to peterson.

The LP has been making major moves lately to try to push peterson out. He isn't 100% on board with the NAP, so that are accusing him of being a GOP Agent
