Libertarian Presidential Debate

WAR scares me sorta...he seems like a Ross Perot but not really and not with as much to spend...
Barr...i really believe in his conversion....he seems to be right on about federalism (look at his remarks on In Re Marriage in California)....he has truly converted on the drug war......and him advocating Jim Gray for a judgeship.....that is definetly a huge plus...Jim Gray is awesome....I have sat in on speeches from Judge Gray....Barr won my support...there is a lot of good candidates....but i am about votes too....Gravel is a good guy...just too leftist.....but he isn't bad, I don't get why people HATE him....

So I would say
1/2 Barr/Ruwart
1/2 Ruwart/Barr
3 WAR
4 Gravel
then the rest.....

An effective speaker is useless if they're preaching the wrong message.

I agree...but what I heard from WAR today didn't seem like the wrong message. Maybe slightly different from most libertarians, but it just seems more tailored to get votes. Like on the drug thing, it makes sense to push for marijuana first, realistically. You can get widespread support for that. You might not agree with closing the border before ending the welfare state thing, OK. But he says he's for open borders eventually.

I think he hit it on the head with the borders thing...and I think that's similar to Ron's message. He's said in the past we would need the workers but we can't do much until we get rid of the welfare state.

Just picture Ruwart debating a Hillary or John McCain. Last night she sounded timid and fragile...that's not what you want in a presidential candidate. If she was on the ticket I would not vote for it. You need someone who can speak passionately and fluently without sounding rehearsed or weak. I could picture Bob Barr schooling Hillary and McCain.

And by the way, about a write in being meaningless...a vote for the Libertarian party, at this point in time, is meaningless. I'd rather make sure I vote for the absolute best candidate. Chances are slim either way, so I want my vote to be for the best...and that's Ron.

Root has been a fiscal conservative for ages, thats what matters most to me. He also brings energy and excitement the LP seems to lack
Barr would be great for 2012, but give him time to prove he's serious and build up some serious inter-party support

That makes no sense. Barr joined the part LONG before Root and Barr is the one who paid his dues on the LNC building the party. Root is the recent convert.

Watching CSPAN, at least one person voted for Ron Paul lol.(so far, don't know if anyone else will vote for him)
