Libertarian party files motions to remove Bob Barr as their nominee

I think I must have misunderstood what you wrote, I thought you were saying that the LP let down Ron Paul by not nominating him. Upon reading your post again, I realized that probably wasn't what you were saying.

Just in case you've got the wrong idea, I'm not a Barr supporter... I was planning on voting for him, but something pretty dramatic would have to happen to cause me to cast my vote for him now.

:)
Me too.

I wish ROn Paul would listen TO HIS OWN ADVICE AND REJECT THE SYSTEM AND RUN ON THE (L) TICKET.

WE NEED TO MAKE THIS STATEMENT DAMMIT.

errrr

Ron Paul said he would not want to make a few million people angry at him for supporting McCain. Then he made the case of why to go third party.. and told us to unite as one for somebody we really dont support.

Dear Ron Paul,

I love you. No homo... Youre my homeboy. I want to check your name on my ballot. You would fire up the biggest grassroots in history. YOU WILL MAKE THE STATEMENT. NOT NADER... BARR. BALDWIN...

YOU.

Take the L nod. We will support you. We arent ever going to leave you. We will work very hard for you. I cant support anybody else. I wont settle on someone else.

When I pull the lever on election day my heart will feel like the weight of the world because I will know I didnt vote for the best man for the job.

America needs Ron Paul. Period.

What in the World are you people thinking?

If Ron Paul wanted to maximiz the vote for what he claims to believe,he should have endorsed(and even run) with the one candidate who had already been getting close to 10% in the national polls, bob barr.....Now,with this silly "vote 3rd Party " business, the freedom vote will be hopelessly divided...what could have been leverage to be used against the GOP at best and a promising performance by the LP(the first in 36 years) has turned into a mockery...I have never been more disgusted in my life....Nobody even knows who Chuck Baldwin is,let alone that he is running for President...Mary Ruwart?...give me a break...You've just consigned the Freedom Movement this year to a tiny footnote in American Electoral History...thanks alot!

LIES. The LIBERTARIAN Party has left him.

I think Barr just wants to rid himself of the humiliation this whole debackle of a campaign. The last interview I saw him on he looked stressed out and negative. I think that this whole press conference fiasco was Bob throwing a fit, maybe even on purpose so that he does not have to come out and say he is worn out.

Lets face it. His campaign thought they would raise 20 million from Ron Paul supporters jumping on his bandwagon. It did't work and now he has no chance of getting 5 percent in the national polls. I think he needs to concede this race and allow the Libertarian Party to get back to it's roots.

troll...don't call RP silly

So the Democrats and Republicans are united behind their candidates, albeit blindly, and the Libertarians are trying to can Bob Barr because he "dissed" Ron Paul? It's no wonder they're still 3rd party. If there were some serious ethics violations then I could understand, but someone slighted "the savior" and that's worthy of being replaced? I disagree with Ron on the border fence and partial-birth abortions (I think it's a state issue) so should I be banned? Neither Chuck Baldwin nor Bob Barr nor Jesse Ventura are exactly like Ron Paul but I'd still be proud to have any one of them as my president. We have enough trouble fighting against the establishment without fighting against ourselves.

It's a little too late now. I see why he stands on "Bob Barr getting the most votes."
It's a presidential election, what's he suppose to say? That he wants to split the votes with all parties. That only helps McCain and Obama. Well, I don't agree that he left the meeting and he should have talked there, but he is running for president and wants to win. Sure, we're not doing so well, but you have to keep campaigning.

What kind of stupid ideology do you believe in if you just want to take one group of supporters fighting for a few main issues and splitting the votes between 4 people?
Oh great, we'll sure win the presidency.

And let me ask you this, how does Barr not attending the meeting affect how he's going to run the country?

What do you disagree with Barr? Is he plotting to destroy the U.S. through the Liberty movement? Is he going to start a war with Russia, kill the Bill of Rights, keep the Patriot Act, etc.

Get real.

Divided,we liberty lovers fail.

I think this message shows what is behind this. Wouldn't your time be spend more effectively going after McSame then going after Barr? I have yet to see one Baldwin support do that. They are more interested in taking out Barr. I personally don't like the CP or Baldwin (or as I call him, bibleboy) but he has a right to run but I'm sick of seeing how bent they are in going after the LP and Barr. Go after McSame for crying out loud!!

"I'm not interested in third parties getting the most possible votes," Barr told reporters. "I'm interested in Bob Barr as the nominee for the Libertarian Party getting the most possible votes."

I think that sums it up right there. Dr. Paul is championing liberty, in what ever form or party it may hide. Barr is out for himself and his party.

Barr is acting like a mainstream partisan dick rather than someone who rallys to the cause of liberty.

Why? Because he won't represent "the cause of liberty" by standing next to two Socialists and a Collectivist Theocrat at Paul's stupid press conference, in which Paul scattered the liberty movement to the winds?

The purists in the LP have been looking for any reason at all to dump Barr. I guess "being mean" to Ron Paul is the excuse they needed. Never mind the fact that Barr offered him, not only his place at the top of the LP ticket some months back, but as of the day before PressConferencegate, he offered Paul the VP spot.

I did not support, vote for and donate to Paul, or join the CfL, to assist him in muddying the waters of liberty by promoting Socialist and Theocratic candidates.

The LP is the only party that "champions liberty." I completely support Barr's decision to blow off that idiotic press conference, especially in light of the shenanigans Paul's people engaged in.

Please sign the petition to remove Bob Barr as the LP nominee.

No.

By signing the petition, the only message we're sending is that we're the disciples of the Church of Ron Paul and we'll be bickering and squabbling over imperfect candidates until his 2nd coming. This makes us look more wacko than the 9/11 Truthers (no offense to the Truthers).

"Ron Paul Following Following Libertarian Party Founding Father Murray Rothbard's Vision"

"Just as conservatives and liberals have effectively blended into a consensus to uphold the Establishment, so what America needs now – and can have – is a counter-coalition in opposition to the Welfare-Warfare State. A coalition that would favor the short-term libertarian goals of militant opposition to the [Iraq] War and the [Empire] generally, and to conscription, the military-industrial complex, and the high taxes and accelerated inflation that the state has needed to finance these statist measures."

Somewhat amusing to see the LP members using GOP-like tactics. I don't see it accomplishing anything but digging themselves a deeper hole. If I didn't know better, I'd think they were trolls trying to hurt the LP, but this behavior is very common.

It's not going to fly here. Good luck with that, though.

being mad at barr for not doing something he'd say he was going to do and tolerate his staff calling paul a thief without explanation, bashing his supporters for no reason, and ranting about bush showing true leadership after 9/11 has nothing to do with the church of ron paul. if he can't even show leadership on the campaign trail, i'm not going to trust him to show leadership while president.
