Libertarian National Convention

This lady is evil. Bob Barr knows what he stands for, he's made mistakes, but he knows what's libertarian and free. And, I'm sick of them labeling everyone who isn't a radical a neocon.

And now this lady said Barr supports the drug war...Clearly, she doesn't listen. Real nice. It's ignorant and arrogant.

The Libertarian Party... they have kept the jokes coming since 1971.
Thanks for more laughs this year!

I have been watching off and on all morning. what is the number of votes needed for the win? And does the niminee pick the VP or do they just take the second place winner?

why would she call Bob Barr a wolf in sheeps clothing, WTF..

what about Gravel??

hes a flaming liberal!!!

...or she's just not buying into his BS. Or his "apology" (which is of course accompanied by a host of justifications that essentially negate the apology.)

Amen. The libertarians just don't like outsiders. They hardly get things done and when they do it takes forever. Barr could break that and bring some real appeal to the party while honestly holding up party values. IT's that typical radical libertarian closet attitude. They want their values to be spread yet they are hostile, hateful, and lack understanding and compassion. This lady proved it.

Bob Barr currently supports the drug war. I'd support Bob Barr if his anti-libertarian views were in the past. This is the article she was referring to:

http://bobbarr.org/default.asp?pt=newsdescr&RI=931

Libertarians oppose the drug war. They do not support sending federal aid to Columbia to fight "narco-terrorists".

Brad beat me to it, But you can't expect a congress to make all drugs legal in one felled swoop. As much as you can want it to happen, it's not going to. Barr has tried to make marijuana legal and he's fighting for that. Small, logical steps making real progress. You can try and jump across a cliff but you might not make it....however, you can build a bridge and get there.

It's one thing to denounce war mongering neo-cons, but the fact that they scream SOCIALIST at anyone who doesn't want to abolish all government services instantly bothers me. Especially considering it was Jefferson who started public education in Virginia.

Or... he could split the party down the middle, turn it into a "neo-Republican" party and basically destroy it from within (again) while co-opting certain talking points and abandoning the rest.

She's a pothead and apparently her "libertarianism" doesn't go past that. John Denver is her spiritual leader.

You don't seem to understand. In that article I linked above, Barr calls for increased U.S. government intervention in South America in order to fight the drug war. He is moving in the WRONG direction.

Christine Smith is a purist. Bob Barr is not.

And what's all this about Ruwart talking of "taxes and fees". Cite please.
