Libertarian Clobbers Tucker Carlson in Immigration Debate

Way to ruin the chance of getting more libertarian opinions on his popular shoe Mr Smart Libertarian Guy. Tucker will just stick to beating up on dumb leftists.

I was nodding my head up until the very end. You don't need to give anyone citizenship, just give them a green card and allow them to work, pay taxes and not take benefits. At least make that the default and if they want to be citizens, make em jump through another hoop to be citizens.

One thing is for sure, he is not coming back to the show after that performance.

There's a drinking game where you watch that interview and drink every time Tucker gets flustered and changes the subject because he has no clue how to respond.

Won't work. You can't make people pay taxes and not give them benefits. That's like double slavery.

And the last time we tried amnesty, it only encouraged them.

You do not understand how much people want to come to this place. America is like a fine, young, shapely girl, people will buy it dinner and goodies even though there is no guarantee of success. I think there would be a way to work it out where they would not be asked to pay taxes like medicare and ss on the condition that they cannot receive welfare. Lots of people especially professionals would the offer.

My dad has that sort of a deal with the hospital in Saudi Arabia. He works and when his contract is up, he packs up and goes home. He doesn't pay any taxes but then again, nobody pays taxes over there :).

Most Americans are descendants of invaders, not immigrants.

That guy form CATO was awesome. I like Carlson sometimes, but he just got SMASHED. I love how CATO guy just slams Carlson on opposing immigration as a means to protect the socialist welfare state. To deny human rights in order to secure protectionist socialist violence is absurd. And if immigration causes that to crash down, all the better.

Also, illegal immigrants bring in over $12 billion into the country in paying state and local excise taxes as well as corporate payroll taxes. http://www.politifact.com/punditfac...ow-much-do-undocumented-immigrants-pay-taxes/

And Carlson wants to avoid this fact. The state spends thousands of dollars per kid. How much do you think people pay in sales taxes once you start adding it up over the years? Lots more than the state spends on education.

Carlson wants to do everything he can to ignore reality as it really is because it really doesn't match up with his politics.

That was awesome. Kudos to that guy. Great job.

Remember when tucker had some libertarian leanings? Then he sold out to have a tv show. He pisses me off.

Let's hear what this Cato/Beltway libertarian/US Chamber Lobbyist has to say...

- 1:30 "There has never been an economy in world history that has done better with fewer people".

Pulled straight from his ass. Perhaps he never heard of the Reformation and Renaissance, which occurred after massive depopulation caused by war and the bubonic plague.

- He contradicts himself many times.

- OK, by the end, I have to congratulate Zippyjuan for being on TV! Good job Zippy!

this guy is no libertarian. He's a buffoon with no sources to back his bullshit up.

WTF?! I mean, the guy is a friggin' peer-reviewed study nerd! He threw out source after source! He needs to take some communications courses, but damn!

This segment reminded me of the old Thomas Sowell interviews where he'd cite study after study proving his points and the interviewers are like, "uh, well, you're wrong because I feelz..."

Why won't you stop contradicting yourself, and answer my question from the other thread?
You have to pick one:
1) Rights are not inherent to humanity,
2) There is no right to reside in the US at all, or
3) Only US citizens are humans.
4) There are different categories of rights, some of which are God-given, and some of which are granted by the state.

Since you want there to be fewer people in the US, I suggest you go with #3. Besides being the most logically consistent with your stated views so far, it allows for mass extermination of immigrants, since they're not people. So you get fewer people in the economy.

Sorry, not everyone is an anarchist. Hell, most anarchists aren't really anarchists.

Well, it makes sense. This is because throughout history, shrinking of population usually comes hand in hand with economic decline, war, famine, or some devastating crisis and vice versa. But lets examine one of your examples of society doing better with fewer people. The Italian renaissance came about after the the scholars, artists, scientists, architects left Constantinople after it was sacked in 1453 and migrated to Italy. Italy got an infusion of new blood which led to a boom in all sorts of areas and economic success

The point is that population of a society tends to increase with economic success, a part of it is just people migrating to the area as it prospers.

Where did he contradict himself and how?

He makes great points until you look at the situation in Europe and realize that a Cato think-tank philosopher hasn't bothered to challenge his theses against reality.

You can't compete with people who s**t in their drinking water. Unless . . . —but you don't want to drink that, do you?.
