Connie Mack. Republican from Florida. I have to say, I think I know Congress pretty well but this guy was totally off of my radar screen until these last few days, when it became clear that his "Penny Plan" to cut 1% across the board over a period of years to balance the federal budget might just be the plan that gains steam and has a shot of passing (not perfect, of course, but much better than Boehner's utterly flawed plan).

We need to get his endorsement. Is he a Ron Paul Republican, per se? Not exactly. But he isn't entirely against us, either. He's a rising star, and he has some good points:

He defended WikiLeaks:

He voted for the original Kucinich plan on Libya. He voted against renewal of the PATRIOT Act: http://townhall.com/video/connie-mack-vs.-the-patriot-act

While he would seem to fall right into Bachmann's camp on first glance, if Dr. Paul does well in Ames and starts to gain a head of steam, we need to really make an effort at reaching out to this man, who clearly has a good head on his shoulders.

Just an idea.

Endorsements will start flowing in after we win Ames. No one wants to endorse a loser especially politicians. Other possible Congressman who might endorse Ron Paul: Walter Jones, Dana Rohrabacher, Tom McClintock, Justin Amash, Roscoe Bartlett

Don't forget Jimmy Duncan in Tennessee. Also, there are some freshman reps that might endorse him, including Tim Huelskamp of Kansas or Raul Labrador of Idaho.

Finally, don't forget the Senators: Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Jim DeMint, and possibly Tom Coburn.

Jimmy Duncan, Tim Johnson and Walter Jones were on the last moneybomb radio marathon.

Is it just me or does it seem like Coburn sold out?
