Let's Celebrate! The worst is behind us!

Next possible shoe to drop.

My son said since Linens and Things went belly up, property management people have been calling BBBY offering much cheaper rates and longer leases just to get the store to take their over their store spaces.

Seems totally logical. These companies are going belly up. When I was in Atlanta they had been acting like rats on steroids with commercial ventures. Someone is going to eat it when these leases aren't paid and who do they think is going to be paying the bill when so many businesses are shuttering up?

We moved to Ohio to a downtown area. We live in a business district in a large century home and it is relatively quiet because the businesses are all shuttered up and noone is replacing them. It is oddly more peaceful here than when we lived in the suburbs of Atlanta or had the home in the boonies of Alabama. We have tons of street traffic since we live on a thoroughfare so the crime is less than if we were not on such a busy street. It is weird though. I just can't fathom what it would take to change things at this point here...

Could someone please explain the "currency swaps" figure to me?

HERE'S AN EASY TO FOLLOW EXPLANINATION:

The proposals come at a time when the deficit is likely to top $1 trillion for the first time in history -- and many budget watchers wonder where the next president will find the money to pay for his campaign promises. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, dismissed calls for bigger stimulus package, saying they are unaffordable.

BTW, the US Government has RUN-UP Far mpore than $1 TRILLION in debt this year!

`Can't Afford That'

What a joke, Financial Train Wreck Nancy Pelosi saying it's unaffordable~! What a joke, Nancy, you're like an open book... we'll see you position or propaganda front AFTER the election results. That's her only reason for such a PR statement.

Insiders have the new bill at between $450-540 BILLION!

Another "TWIST the POLITICIANS ARM" and "Taste this with a Dirty Plunger" and I don't like this bill but we NEED... you fill in the blank: ______________________.

Stimulus packages of any size are unaffordable for America PERIOD.

Watch out folks.

Wells Fargo is offering a 10 BILLION common stock offering tonight. The word is they need 30 Billion.

Talk about dilution of shareholders and the screwing of the public on their bailout.

This says not all is well, by a long shot.

Watch for others doing the same shortly.

I would not touch one of these financial stocks on a cold day in H--L. Current shareholders get a hair cut. The wake up call would be if they don't get a share sold.

Just my position. Buckle up!

Waiting to confirm a muni bond insurer has been downgraded to junk status. That will rock the market if it is correct. I can't even begin to comprehend how many muni bonds they insure for states and cities.

There are only two big players in the market and both are having problems.

SARGE, where did you discover that Broyhill filed for bankruptcy?

I forgot to add that Broyhill Furniture just filed for bankruptcy.

SARGE, WHERE DID YOU HEAR THIS?

Could you refer me to a source or tell me how to confirm it?

You are welcome.

I hope if you bought furniture, you put it on a charge card where you have recourse.
