Hey,
Just thought I report in, according to my knowledge we are the largest district in Snohomish County.
District #44
I do not know the ACTUAL numbers, because there were 2 "undercover" delegates, so I am not sure on the count. Our district sends 31 delegates. We only got 6 or so.
We could have added at least 4 more, IF only some people didn't screw up. But it was an honest mistake. The Chairman was speaking in a way that made it seem that he was "renumbering" the delegates that were left on the 4th ballot, but that was NOT the case. So I know at least 4 people that ended up filling in the WRONG number, we appealed to the Chairman but nothing happened.
Since on the 4th ballot the delegates were selected by not majority but rather ranked them by # of votes, I believe we could have had more if this mistake was not made. I was sure to be placed if this mistake wasn't made, because I was getting good response from even the McCain people.
As for the alternates, I'm not exactly sure about the number, BUT it was unchallenged, meaning only 31 were nominated, and we nominated as many as we could, so We probably have majority in alternates, but we don't know the order. They said the Secretary will draw them to place them. We put the motion that the drawing be done right then, the chairman said that'll happen onces the alternates are finalized, but it was finalized someone motioned to to have no further motions, and it was over. That damn Chairman. I'm pretty sure we'll get cheated in placement of the alternates cuz it was definitely McCain party.
As for District #38
We did better here, I know hard delegate number is 13 of 22. As for alternates only word I've heard is that we have most of the alternates.
Hope to see other good results.
If your convention hasn't happened yet then know that the PARTY IS AGAINST YOU. They had printed a "unity slate" of McCain which most people voted for, so YOU BETTER BE ORGANIZED.
Here are my tips to you:
Send all the delegates a list of RP delegates in ALPHABETICAL order. Then ASK them to Vote DOWN the list on EVERY Ballot. This is because once there are spots filled for delegate position and you have MORE RP delegates than there are spots, EVERYONE WILL CHOOSE the SAME. You can't afford splitting votes!!!! So if everyone just votes down the lists, crosses out the names of those elected/eliminated then goes down the list on the next ballot, we will know that EVERYONE IS VOTING for the SAME set of DELEGATES which will INCREASE our CHANCES!!! This was a problem in our district thats why I'm telling you. It is essential that votes don't get split BECAUSE the party will have a McCain slate most likely, if you don't organize then your results won't be good!
Hope this helps
