Lee Bright: The government is more dangerous to our liberties than radical Islamists

I'm not mad at him anymore. It might be best for me to sit this one out until the race becomes clear.

THAT is the kind of thing we need to be hearing. No apologies for those who pretend to support freedom but then demonize the Muslims. Expose your own government.

The kind of people that will say this are the kind of people we need in the senate.

Go Bright!

He's definitely sounding better than Mace on this issue.

EDIT: Well, then I read his full answer. He says the federal government is more dangerous than terrorism, then lays out ideas that give the federal government more power. So score this one a tie, until Mace gives more detail about what she means when she says 'Radical Islam is a threat.' Still, it's nice to have someone running for office is who at least willing to float hardcore ideas like that one out.

The only blind spot I saw was speaking positively of Ted Cruz, but I'd expect no different.

The anti-terror stuff didn't bother me. Regarding immigration, personally, ideally I'd like to not have to do that, but as a short term measure we may not have much of a choice. Islamic terror is not going to immediately stop even if we do bring our troops home, and the people will support mass reductions of our freedoms if another 9/11 happens. Unlike most anti-terror strategies, restricting immigration is neither a violation of the Constitution nor a violation of anyone's rights.

His "ideas" were the same ideas that Ron Paul has given for stopping terrorism; ending student VISAS for countries that support terrorism and securing the border. Ron Paul ran ads back in 2008 that advocated those ideas.

Lee Bright and Nancy Mace are both good. Hopefully one of them wins the runoff so everyone can rally behind him or her to defeat Lindsey.
