Talks about the support Rudy is starting to receive in KY. The senate minority leader Mitch McConnell is now officially backing Rudy it seems. I have grown more and more disappointed with him over the years because of his special interest swag.

Interesting take on the head-to-head polls. Fred and McCain poll better than Hillary in the state. Rudy not so much. Ron Paul was not included.

Ky has 45 delegate votes at the GOP convention. Our primaries are late, at the end of March.

Too bad no grassroots legitimate supporters are, please come again rudy.

We've got to get some delagate here in KY. I went to the KY meetup group this weekend and asked Rand Paul about the delagate situation. He said that so few people show up and are interested in politics that it would be easy to totally overwhelm the GOP of KY and take it over with Ron Paul supporters.

Sadly I didn't get any specific information about how to become delagates or how to do what he is suggesting. Thanks to everyone that post info here about it.

BTW, if any didn't know, Gatewood Galbraith was there and is a HUGE Ron Paul supporter. He said "I am a Democrat but I have a Ron Paul bumper sticker on my car and am switching parties to vote for him". (Gatewood Galbraith has been running for governor here for a long time).

I am starting the process of making my way as a delegate. If you need more information PM me. Other than that join the Louisville/Lexington Meetups. I'll try and post any details. I dream to vote Ron Paul at the national convention. I'd also like to see the look on the party 'leaders' faces when they find out Ron Paul is popular and no one bothered to talk with them about it.

Every Republican who supports Rudy sells their soul in an attempt to win.

True and sad. I can't believe those who are falling for criminal Rudy, including some in my family, if they only knew the TRUTH they would run from this scumbag.

Oh well all we can do is keep promoting Ron Paul until we turn blue. ;)

A vote for Rudy is a vote for Clinton, its that simple.

No way the Neo Cons are going to take this next election, not with the last 7 years of BS

While KY's GOP leaders may be lining up behind Rudy, our state may be turning against them. Because of the governor's election a couple of weeks ago and the bitter Republican primary from the Spring, the state party is very split right now. Don't be surprised if Mr. Mitch McConnell is sent packing next fall.

Also, it has been difficult to talk much about the presidential campaign with people while we had the governor's race going on. Now that it's over, KY's RP supporters can work more effectively.

Lastly, I would love to see Gaitwood become very involved with the RP campaign. He has a ton of support (especially in central KY) that could really help our cause.

Anyone contact Congressman Ron Lewis-2nd District?

I met him when I was stationed at Ft. Knox.

This guy should love us.
Plus he's an honest man (as far as politicians go) and his supporters love him.
An endorsement would carry a good amount of weight.

Great idea. Though, I don't live in his district. He would be stepping outside the party line with this so I don't think he wouldn't be very vocal until after we win a primary or two.

I agree, the KY republican party is split and licking its wounds right now. Any GOP candidate will have trouble pulling ahead of the Democratic nominee here.

You're right, he may tread carefully...but if McConnell is ready to jump ship Lewis should be too. Lewis & McConnell were tight (at least in the late 90's) and Lewis has ROCK SOLID support in E-town and the surrounding areas. Even if Lewis goes a bit 'maverick' by endorsing Paul he's highly re-electable....And we can use that endorsement in NV, SC, NH, & IA to prove credibility.

If we can some known pols to jump on board, it will provide HUGE amounts of credibility, not to mention bring their supporters to us.

If you guys in KY can pull it off, flood this guy with letters.

I just sent him an email....I hope he remembers me. :)

I'm spreadin the word of Ron Paul over thanksgiving in Kentucky! Bumper Stickers for all!

The thing about deligates that worries me is if they are true supporters. Wolves in sheep clothing could happen. Then we would be a very bit upset I have to say. Or could this not happen?

I am not sure about the allegiance of the delegates. I would be interested in background on this as well. I for one don't plan on advertising my Ron Paul stance 'at first' when I start the delegate process. If I make it to the state level everyone would know. I would be 'that Ron Paul guy'

Ron Lewis is my congressman. I work in court a lot, and he has an office in that building. I would be happy to contact him.

Someone mentioned our primary in March. I am 99% sure it is at the end of May.
