When Kucinich was still in the race he said he preferred Ron Paul as running mate:

Who knows... perhaps Kucinich will endorse Ron Paul, which will show the pundits that Ron Paul is also popular among democrats; something which is rarely being spoken about.

I know, I've had that video in my signature for a long time. To bad there are so many Kucinich bashers on the forums who call him a commie gun grabber and don't take enough time to actually study him (this is the same problem with have with people who don't support Ron Paul b/c they think he's a racist truther).

I may not agree with him on the role of government. But I have always respected the guy for many of the same reasons I respect Paul. It sucks that many talk poorly of him for superficial reasons.

What Kucinich people? Seriously, he had negligible public support (sadly).

Hey - an extra 6% from the Dem's?

And you have to keep in mind that 6% of the dem. vote is about 20% of the Republican vote. (Didn't do the math - general idea to emphasize point)

It's not negligible.

Look at the total number of voters on both sides.

New Hampshire - Hillary and Obama both beat McCain by over 30,000 votes.

Edwards was really close to McCain.

I'll take 6% of the democratic vote - ESPECIALLY during the primaries!

Scratch NH.

I can't do math.
Or remember what happened apparently (or the numbers got switched.)

Still - he had more support than Dodds or Gravel.
And every vote helps.

I was being nice to Kucinich people for the last week. The writing was on the wall when he lost the court case appeal to be in the debate. Man NBC is ruthless.

If the persons main thing is getting out of the war these two are a good match even though different parties.

We welcome anyone and everyone.

I can't tell you how many people I've spoken to here in Oregon that I thought would like Ron Paul but were, instead, Kucinich supporters.

Kucinich is a real puzzle. How can a guy support the constitution and also support socialism? What am I missing?

I find it fascinating how two men with extremely polar opposite political philosophies (socialist versus libertarian) are actually in agreement with so many things.

Paul and Kucinich both oppose the war, both want our troops home, both favor the end on the war on drugs, both are not in favor of the Patriot Act, and both want to rid of our income tax. Very interesting, no?

Ron Paul & Dennis Kucinich have great respect for each other

Dennis has been a co-sponsor on many of Congressman Paul's bills in the House, and Ron Paul has been co-sponsor of so many of Dennis Kucinich's bills.

In our survey of key votes in the 2005 & 2006 Congress, Ron Paul has the highest rating by Cannabis Culture (perfect voting record against war on drugs, Iraq, Patriot Act, Homeland Security, Broadcast decency Act, Plan Colombia, School of America torture school, anti-marijuana advertising) but Dennis Kucinich was third out of 435 US reps. (Barney Frank was second, Paul's chairman of the Banking Committee). The only vote Dennis & Paul didn't coincide on in those votes studied, was a vote to abolish the ONDCP (The Drug Czar's office of John Walters) in which Paul opposed the budget while Kucinich voted for it, Kucinich's only vote that could be interpreted as pro-drug war.

They both describe the other as a good friend and ally and both admit that their differences are on economic matters, not foreign policy, not drug policy and they usually agree on the interpretation of the US Constitution.

They should run

There would be a lot of support if they could get the message of freedom out..
The only two non war monger choices

More people like Kucinich than would vote for him - that whole 'unelectability' issue again.

More importantly, it would force every honest democrat to take a serious look at Ron Paul. Kucinich is recognized as honest and straight forward, and his support of Paul would go a long way.

Paul/Kucinich 2008 is an unbeatable ticket. Granted, Dr. Paul would have a harder time getting the nomination but that's a different issue - in the general election it's the dream team.

I like it. It would also make people think about the false left-right paradigm.

Make sure to let the Kucinich supporters switch their party to GOP before deadlines. I guess it is too late for California. :(
